Well, "gross" within "South Louisiana" standards ain't too gross. You guys are very funny, and we can tell you ain't dummies. That makes the difference. Back in Abbeville, LA we use the word "zeedob" for too gross. Here in Germany the word is "äcklig" (not sure on the spelling at the moment, but it's pronounced "AEK-lish").
