  • KNOCK HERE KNOCK THERE EVRYWHERE A NOCK NOCK

  • ENGINE KNOCK! LOL

  • KNOCK KNOCK....? WHOS THERE? LOLLLLLLLLLLLL!

  • if the AFR is say 12:1 I assume high amounts of carbon and unburnt fuel? 14:1 I assume more wear cause of more heat?

  • so the only way to see the ideal ignition timing is to have a dyno? what is the ideal AFR if the AFR does not change power? say the AFR has the same power @ 12-14 which number is best for longevity?

  • @AntDX316~ its all about knock (detonation) control. U cannot tune an engine without having a good knock-sensor.

  • @marek0086 so when tuning an engine u always should knock at least once to know the limit? how far do u tune down? 5% from the knock alert?

  • @AntDX316~ there are differnent amounts of knock intensity. U want to stay below a certain threshold of knock. Man there are heaps of variables that will determine what AFR u will need to run.

You'll need to read a book about engine tuning.

  • @marek0086 so its best to deal with ppl who know all about this.. and do this for a living if I want hardcore info? is it a good idea to never knock or to have some knock? like does knock like = more performance and like carbon buildup and oil vaporize better?

  • @AntDX316~ oil vaporize better?!... why would u want oil to vaporize??

No, u dont want knock. It puts more undue stress on the engine. Knock (detonation) is a bad thing. Around 12.5:1 gives u best power.

  • @marek0086 like to prevent carbon build up..

  • @AntDX316~ no, knock doesnt do anything good for the engine.

Your gonna need to read a book or 2 if you want to know what an engine needs and why it needs it.

  • @marek0086 I know what knock is and how an engine works and what it needs, I was just trying to fine tune my knowledge with stuff maybe u know that I don't that I can get easy from u

  • @AntDX316~ Well how do u know u can trust me?.... u dont know my qaulifications. I could be telling u complete rubbish!

Dont rely on youtube comments. Read a book or 2.

  • @marek0086 I would take some of what u say and research what u say for credibility, I wouldn't take what u say and what other ppl say without some valid other credibility

  • wow i always assume that unless you were at 12.5 afr you were losing max power which ever side of it you were on. learned something new! for naturally asperated engine with about 11 to 1 compression what kind of advance should you be running?

this would be in warm weather with 95 octane

  • @SRT480~ dude it all depends on the engine design. How "knock-limited" the engine is.

  • The dyno is not lying, if you honestly believe this then you clearly miss the point of this video. The ABS light is on because the front wheels are moving but the rear wheels are not (this is common on when you put a vehicle on the dyno), the shot of the tacho at 2:10 was not actually shot during the dyno run i was just revving it for that particular camera shot (good pickup by the way).

I did just plug this ECU in, we now have a range of direct plugin ECUs see haltech.com for details

  • hi there, i want to ask a little about this product, why at 2:10 the abs warning light always on like that?and at the same time, why the speed indicator doesn't move at all while the RPM go higher?thanks :)

  • @harislovepo ABS light comes on when most cars are on dyno's... the car doesnt know whats going on, front wheels spinning and rear wheels still, of course the computer will throw a wobbly and display abs error.

As for the RPM/Speed, i was thinking the same thing... unless he was just revving it for the camera

  • what did he just simply plug the ECU with out any cutting or wiring !!!!!!!!! and does that ECU has a base map for that civic ?

I just love this company ........

  • Nice video and good job on producing these videos. Great marketing tool!

Ahh one last thing, would of been nice to see the final tuned #s on the this car or a before and after the haltech EMS.
