  • i love Ritchie Havens , Freedom in Woodstock it was a blessed time but i prefer that song ''What about me '' fron legend Quick Silver Messenger Servive...

    Greetings from Greece

  • What I wonder is how the 3 "dislike" people got here.

Richie Havens should not come up when searching for "most recent crapfest music."

  • try Jesse Farrow,songwriter

...from the album of the same name,QSMS/quicksilver messenger service

Havens does a great job as usual -

the song however is not of his creation.

  • shitfuckdamn goosebumps and neckhair rising

  • always loved this song.. it's more relevant now than ever

  • the song was written in 1970 by jessie farrow of quicksilver messenger service, an iconic san francisco band.

  • juandicedi: I got your e-mail...Thanx for the effort and knowledge...

  • So now I read the comments...Who actually wrote it?

  • This has been one of my favorite songs for years and years, and I didn't know until now is was written by Ritchie Havens...WOW...COOL

    P.S. Ratscisum...It isn't a cover...He wrote it...

  • Beautiful cover by a soul with feeling.

  • Someone disliked this. Either a foolish kid who didn't feel it was tricked out enough or someone who doesn't know what to do about me.

  • What about me" by quicksilver messenger service..one of the greatest 60tys albums ever!!

  • Don't usually like remakes, but this ones rings out beautifully.

  • Written by Chet Powers AKA Dino Valenti, AKA Jesse Oris Farrow.

  • @beowulven in think chet power was some name the publisher stuck on dino valentis song get together when he sold it for $30

  • i love richie and the message he carries to the world.we are told as kids to talk but never trained to LISTEN

  • Groovy man...I wonder if he and QMS ever performed this song together...Gob Bless You Brother Richie

  • This is a song about the system today...

  • Love this man. Gave him a hug and told him that once. Great moment for me I like to brag about. I asked him "What happened to the hippies" He said' they got jobs and had children and are carrying it on in other ways...' Richie has the uncompromising message . Most hippies sold out.

  • No words*********4 U

  • just amazing!!

  • Amazingly moving! I love this man!

  • ritchie is and always has been great---
