Wow, this is great!!! This is I think the best fingerstyle of this song :) Did you get tabs for it or how did you learn it?? I really want to and am curious :D
Wow. This is beautifully done. Especially so for me since I'm from a small town named Houma, about 50 miles southwest of New Orleans.
As for your style, if I may, I find it to be both peaceful and joyful. Even when you play with melancholy your music is uplifting. You bring out the Americana feel without all the drama.
I aspire to play as beautifully as you. Thank you for all the hard work!
Wow, I'll only comment on this one, but I've watched several of your videos after just discovering you. (I was searching for Yamaha silent guitar. :-) ) Great playing, great arrangements. This was one of my favorites. Steve would be smiling at this one.
Thank you. Since I haven't made a score for this one, there will be no mistake as long as it sounds alright but when I made a score, I will be making mistakes in every ten seconds.
I love it when you take the C chord shape down two frets.
I'd love learn this because there is a song in Hebrew with the same composition (and with different lyrics),I want to play something that people around me know (as it turns out, they don't know any Beatles songs).
Beautiful flowing melody all the way! Awesome performance! While listening, I let my imagination take over, and it brought back some nice memories. Thanks. ;)
This is your 99th video. Wow, I'm looking forward to seeing the 100th!
Another beautiful performance. Very nice to play along with, too, tuned to A=440. Thank you ! My favorite part was how you went a little quiet in the last verse when it is "nightime."
Thank you. The way Arlo sung gives me an clear image of this song. It would have been different if I first heard this through Steve Goodman himself or John Denver.
Very thoughtful version. You captured the roll of the train and the resonating sadness of the disappearing railroad blues. Too bad you don't post lessons. I'm sure that you are a great teacher.
I'm sorry but, respectfully, I don't believe you. Anyone who can play with such a thoughtful and creative style would automatically be a better teacher than the majority of teachers who are posting. I am grateful to everyone of those teachers, good or bad, who give of their time to help make me a better guitar player. Without them and YouTube I would never improve because I cannot afford lessons. Thank you for posting. I hope that you reconsider.
Well, I believe every word this man says. I also know that being able to do something well is very different from being able to teach it. Also, some people have "teaching" personalities and some do not.
If I am in person with other guitar player, I could point out few that can be fixed, but in general, I am not good one. For instance, I would say "sing with your fingers" as I arranged this by looking at words I found on internet.
I bow to your wishes Sensei, but humbly add that a phrase such as "sing with your fingers" may awaken in a student a part of his thought process never used before, thus providing a ladder to the next step. Those who would be displeased with your word choice or sentence structure can just travel on to their own journey.
I would like to ask you what chord you are using that you add an index finger note to that gives it such a melancholy feel at 120 on the video? Thank you again.
The thing is I was nearly lost when I started YouTube and now they are talking about my style which I am still looking for. So I am lost again. At around 1:20, I am playing regular open G chord with C chord taps in occasionally.
Nothing to say.. just.. you are really the best!

Thank you Amir. This arrangement came out in a morning of the day I made this video. so it still is in my memory. I will write it someday.

You wrote the arrangment in one day ?
I hope to learn this someday.
I just learned "The long and winding road",very good arrangment and it's an easy one to learn :)

Took me an hour or so for this one. Once I am hooked, I am pretty quick.

I hope that one day I'll manage to write an arrangment.

Hi Hiroshi,
this great music tune again reminds me to my youth in 60/70th. Folksongs all around...
Only few people know that this song is a dedication for the night train with the same name between Chicago and New Orleans.
Again a brilliant arrangement, 5 *´s.
Cheers from Lemgo/Germany
