I for one refuse to buy any digital music, why would you? CD and vinyl are just so much nicer. And if I want artists to continue to release their music in hard form they need to know that they can make sales.

@allseeingeye93 there are bands who put out one good or two goos songs and phone in the rest of a given album. For that reason, I like purchasing digital music if at all possible (this becomes a bit more difficult since I am not one with the almighty iTunes)

Vinyl is excellent, but hardly versitile. Same with CD's to a lesser extent. As much as I hate it sometimes, we're in the 21st century and I need music to go. It's an addiction at this point. Read Chuck Palanuik's Lullaby. I need music 24/7.

My main problem is when people steal a band's work just because they don't want to pay/don't understand the importance of supporting bands and then come up with lame excuses to justify their theft.

And I mean that, I don't just forgo buying songs after that. There's a little word we haven't mentioned yet and it's "quality".

@ServeTheBeaver, Oh, and I'd recommend you invest in getting an iPod; there isn't really anything better if you want music on the go and of course it comes with iTunes. Yes, I know iPods are overpriced and I'm not a big fan of Apple's marketing techniques but they really are the best mp3 available IMO and iTunes is quite a nice piece of software. It also copies music from CDs really fast, allowing you to have both a hard and digital copy (when possible of course)

That and the whole sweatshop things. Maybe I just don't like Steve Jobs. Idk. I have a 16 gig PSP go that I'm quite fond of. They have a program that rips, etc rather nicely. Again, it's just the legal purchasing that becomes difficult with smaller bands.
