  • Good stuff..... capture the feel of Collins perfectly. I am too a big fan of Genesis and other similar Rock era bands. Have you looked at Mike Portnoi from "Transatlantic"...... he is very good with "odd" timings......

Check out my version of Dance on a Volcano/Squonk medley played over a midi file.

  • Another great cover. Phil is probably my favorite drummer, mainly because he had it all: a voice, stage presence, and fantastic musical sensibility.

  • perfect!!!! greetings from Prague

  • You nailed it! great job.

    How about Los Endos?

  • Excellent drum cover. Some people try to add their own flair and interpretation to Phil's drum arrangements and I'm always put off by them. Good job.

  • Very nice Congrats!

  • One question: are the original drums audible in the playback you listen to?

  • Wonderful! Spot on, joy to watch.

  • Nailed it! Nice.

And yes... he plays the drums as though he's speaking. Not so much just to keep time... he phrases and you captured it beautifully.. not an easy piece.

  • Captured by your vid. Great!

  • @SCARAMACAI2 thanks for watching...and commenting...

  • Good drumming. Thank you!!!

  • @sjnorman2 Thanks alot....

  • @JJPanozzo Thanks so much...I appreciate that....keep on drummin'

  • @nirad2007 Thanks for giving Phil his due credit, because he's one of the most underrated drummers ever!!!! People just don't understand how much his drumming was used by so many musician's during the 70's and very early 80's. Oh... just to let you know your a very fab drummer!

  • As a Squonk addict since 1980 I must say excellent job right on and fun to watch. Wish I had that talent. Please do more Genesis, maybe from Lamb Lies Down? Thanks for posting.

  • @frazzernak thanks a lot!! More Genesis is on the way!

  • It's strange how no one seems to consider Phil Collins as one of rock's greatest drummers. It's like his solo career as a vocalist caused so many to forget what an amazing talent he is on the drums.

  • I hear you....most people never heard of the work he did with Brand X...amazing!!

  • Yeah, Brand X. Phil's talent for jazz-rock fusion really shown through with them. And his eclectic work with Peter Gabriel, Eno, and Fripp are notable.

  • @bearmare Phil showed another side of himself in working with Brand X. And I have a signed showbill from when he played big band music in Carnegie hall. He's an all round musician.

  • Tight! OMG! The best studio cover of this song I've heard. Check out 'jouxplan' on youtube, his live version cover is good. I was teasing him a few months back about you and having some competition.

  • Thanks! I have....very nice....

  • Thank you so much for this. Excellent job - as if I was seeing Phil in the studio in 1976! Phil is also one of my favourites. I find Robbery Assault and Battery the hardest to reproduce. Nobody on you tube even tries to do it (the way it was on the studio verson). Thank you again!

  • Very good playing indeed. Could you do the Behind the lines.Cheers.

  • This is the cleanest drum interpretation of Squonk I have ever heard. Great audio quality. Thanks for posting it!

  • Thanks a lot...more to come...

  • Technical proficiency and an excellent audio mix. Good job!
