  • Neil, how big buckets do you use for these? I got 10 liter buckets for them and got fruits, but putting them in twice as big for next year.

  • My personal favorite habanero, unique flavor, very hot, very prolific producers. Win Win!

  • wonderful plants!!!!Here in sweden they grow oh so slow...I got a bird tepin plant and

some habaneros growing.I hope it will be a warm sunny summer so they grow fast.

  • @MatteJz wow in sweeden chile pequin indors though right. I can send you seeds derived from a wild plant in south texas if you would like. Tell me how your plant went.

  • @TheDeltaboss

  • Wow Neil thats a HUGE Carribean Red plant. I have one I have been growing for 2 years and its nowhere that big but boy do the fruit pack a punch. You probably dont remember me but you sent me a packet of Butch T Trinidad seeds a year or so ago. Want to talk about packing a punch!! I will never forget that and have been trying to figure out what to send back in return as a thank you. Have a good one mate! Will be sending something to OZ as soon as I figure out what to send you.

  • @necrocannibal Hi Mate, these don't seem to grow that big, well didn't think till pulled out the Branch that had been twisted and was huge, will whack in ground and see how goes.. Go the Scorps they are Insane and dunno why heaps don't know bout still, ya ok no need to send stuff, Just grow Moreeeeeeee :D

    take care mate

  • One of my favs. I grew them 2 years back. Was it exactly like the one you did last year called the meltdown habanero? I swore the meltdown was this last year when seen. Sounded like someone just got a hold of these and decided to rename "meltdown hab".

  • @chillilover1 these were off your seeds :D and Yea, the Meltdown will actually do a taste comparison as got Both atm, as yes the same dudes that have the Jose (serrano) Ping (ball chilli) the Orig pepe was Orange, "we crossed our pepe to get this" bullshit and think ya correct, will have a sus

    take care mate

  • Those are some glossy lookin Habs. Very shiny red almost like you buffed the outside of them. Look like Cherry tomatoes as well.

  • @airfats1 yea very shiny and looks like as ya say buffed them , heaps weird.. hahahaha stick 1 of these into some cherry tomato's at the fruit shop, did it with some Hot cherry's into the cherry box, dunno how went though :D

  • Wow, nom nom nom.

  • i'd have to say neil should be an experiment. The Health benefits of eating hot food, hes almost like a new breed of humans that feast only on things that have a defense mechanism. Chilies are supposed to be hot so things don't eat them, so i figure cactus is next....

  • @gumby83 got cacti but spikey , although will be eating these when huge or parts thereof,, not the spikey bits though that would be seriously bad,, don't eat meat so chillis are great as can Nuke anything and can't taste it, but rather have sticks shoved in my eyes than eat Tofu, nothing makes that taste good :P

    cheers dude

  • Hottest habs i have actually had! say that 12 times fast!

  • @djtorne hahahahahahaha trippy, get stuffed up easy there :D

    cheers

  • @Anubisxian Yup and like that way of spelling it "Bacca Mah Throat" YEAA and like Sarelle500gr scorp pic idea too so will tell the missus to see what can do and get it happening :D

    cheers

  • i thought you were gonna toss the plant over your shoulder

  • @Sleepyhead54 hahahahah naaa to heavy :D and would have to clean the mess

    cheers

  • whats the difference between these and congo trinidads ?

  • @Marcus4president dunno, never grown the congo trinidad to compare too, think have seeds of but not sure and will grow it next year and will see then

    cheers mate

  • I had a plant of these, but it died during winter. :'( I made the stupid mistake of transplanting it to new soil when it was supposed to be dormant. It was almost a year old...... :'(

Now I have a tiny Trinidad Scorpion sproutling. Hopefully this one will do well - I won't make the same mistake twice.

  • @redeyedol grew few Yrs ago and it died over winter, same last season but pruned to much.. so thought would get it in by this years end before lost it good luck with the scorp, hardy suckers so should go great, take care mate

  • #LOL

  • That plant looked hardy. Would pepper plants be considered 'bushes' or 'trees'?

  • @davidmc107 Hi mate, Trees generally grow as a single stem, but bush's/shrubs have numerous stems where they emerge from the ground. That's how shrubs can be differentiated from young trees which may be close to the same height,, so they shrubs/bush's although got some nearly trees :D

  • LOL tossing the chillis over your shoulder at the beggining :p

What would this carribean hab go with recipe wise? any recommendations?

  • @ClaudioSanchezCC mabee like salt and good Luck over the shoulder :D would go with anything that ya need Heat in, could Slice and Put on stuff (what i do mostly) Dry/ powder up and be great in/ on anything, doesn't have that much taste so won't overpower food with Hab taste

    cheers

  • @TheHippySeedCompany Thanks mate :D

  • you were sweeting pretty bad in this video

  • @ILOVEYOUFROMJOEL yeaa, its pretty Hot plus a Bit coolish now temp wise and i do sweat heaps, usually have to change shirts after dinner plus have a Towel so Yea sweat heaps

    cheers

  • i grew this type last year and i prefer this taste to many of the othe habs :)

  • @NobbytheChili yea, doesn't have the Hab taste :D not to keen on that myself but love the heat, WHACK fairly straight up.

    take care mate

  • One more time!!! Back ma throat. Lol

  • @marito001 hahaha lots of back of ma throating lol

  • Nice! The "BOOM" of them may good for a "BOOM"-Sauce!^^

  • @NZHALKO cool Idea :D Boom Boom as the back of the throat then Boom mouth, heaps cool and not had 1 do that

    cheers

  • 400k? NOOO, atleast not what ive read. Closer to 650K. However, when they come out with that new hand held cap tester, I'm gonna have to scronge up some change and buy it to test my peppers. They are one of the hotter habs. I always thought it had a smoky flavor. Plant looks good and healthy, reminds me of how the fatali grows. My habs were normally short and bushy at first, then they grow a little taller.

  • @hitandrun83 Hey dude.. not as Hot as a savina and they bout 550, got to get a hand held, now that be coool and will look into as could use 1 be great to see the diff in same types even. very Hot though and quick whereas most habs build and yea short bushy then Whooska depending on temps, had a late spurt here :D

    cheers mate

  • Sweeet! Growing them right now, can't wait for the fruits.

  • @JackeShanTwo coool, yea wait till ya bang 1 in, they rock seriously for a Hab :D

  • Another great video Neil. Thanks for putting your ass (moreso mouth) on the line again for us.

BTW, I haven't had much luck with growing chillis. Bought some E-bay seeds from some 'Doc' guy which were supposedly Nagas. Turned it to be plain red chillies, then last year at the local market (country VIC) I got 'Habanero' seedlings (hottest in the world according to the woman, whom I set straight on Nagas). They grew to be plain red chillies. Amazing how some people don't GAF about chilli types.

  • @philbx1 Hi Mate, yea been there and still happens a Heap too, great though when actually have some1 hell bent telling you "these Birdseyes are the Hottest in the world" and ya happen to have some scorpion or Naga with ya :D
