Italian forces were well known in WW II from their surrenders than by their victories. Most Italian soldiers were inexperience with outdated guns.

@ericssson No, the U.S. tanks in Iraq are even more advanced - they can fly. There used to be videos on it but the youtube Nazis took them down. Iraqi roadside bombs are so powerful that the Abrams tanks would literally be blasted into the air - completely off the group. It would fall down without tracks and missing tires with the crew dead or bleeding from every orifice in their body.

The Italian Navy was very good though. Especially their underwater divers. Extremely brave and proficient.

Pretty well done documentary. It shows the ingenuity and bravery of the German soldiers, but it doesn't glorify the Nazi regime. Its great that we are getting far enough away from the catastrophe called WWII that we can begin to take a more objective historical perspective of it. Thanks for posting!

i don't know. i read a version written in Spanish. But there is also a very complete book in english about the subject, called "Hitler's raid to save Mussolini" by Greg Annussek. There probably also exists a version in English of "Lebe gefärlich", but it is hard to find. You can also find a lot of stuff in amazon, as well as memoirs of the special forces commando.
