Fire Alarm at Band Concert (original)

I think if I were incharge of any school concert the outfits would be black slacks. White dress shirts with ties and possibly either a blazer or sweater. I know I always had to wear a shirt and tie to school concerts in elementary and middle school. But maroon bow ties in middle school.

Band T shirts? I always thought for school concerts they had to dress up. I know I did for school concerts in Elementary and Middle School. And my school I never participated in music. But Im sure they had to dress up for concerts.

@davidworx Im not 100% sure but I thought it would have been the Wheelock AS. I think the MT-24 horn strobe and the AS horn strobe sound the same. I think it was more likely the AS.

@chris40539 I honestly cant stand the sound of fire alarms. At least twice in the last 2 weeks the fire alarm goes off on the floor I work on and it was blaringly loud and I cannot stand it.

@xzxoxlx Unfortunately, that's because a lot of Americans have gotten used to the sound of fire alarms, due to repeated fire drills in schools and other institutions. We've been exposed to them so much that the sound doesn't seem to phase people anymore; it feels like a rude interruption just like people getting used to the sound of car alarms. People are supposed to start evacuating as soon as the fire alarm starts, but they seem to assume its a false alarm/drill until someone does something.

@rjherie Not at all. The presence of other people makes one do something s/he would not normally do. This is called the bystander effect. A way to test this effect is, imagine if the place was empty and there was only one person in there. Do you think the one person would just sit around and wait for something to happen? The more people in an emergency the likelihood of someone doing something decreases dramatically. It's been studied heavily for about 50 years now since Kitty Genovese.
