It won't be soon enough, but thank God computer technology is advancing fast enough that simulations will replace animal research (I'm no expert, but from what I"ve read, the success rate of research is so poor we wouldn't lose much by using computer simulations entirely today - but I'm not in a position to say so with any certainty). I can't say whether we 'need' animal testing now or not, but I can say with certainty abuse is unacceptable and can't wait until computers replace it.

Animal testing is made to give humans a better life but this video proves that we don't deserve a better life. The animals do however. Animal experimentation has proven invalid to mankind. Countless pharmaceutical drugs are tested on animals and cause fatalities, yet still put on the market. Drug companies are not in the business of saving lives. It is federal grant money from peoples tax money for "research" they gain to collect. Billions of dollars from drug sales keep the industry alive. Both animals and humans are the victims. It is time to ban the medieval ritual of animal experimentation and use modern methods.
When they are in cages by themselves they are in "isolation", yet when they are housed together it is "warehousing". Come on you can't have it both ways. For a start the word isolation means no contact visual or other. They are in cages next to each other, that is in no way isolation. Just remember people next time you are sick and need medication. Where did that medication get its certification to be safe.

Your loved ones; real mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, etc., are helped everyday through normal procedure lab experiments. Many of them would be dead or worse. Medical science has only ever consisted of animal models in experiments for human disease, so, naturally, researchers claim credit for just about every scientific discovery ever made with the use of animals, and most advances in medical science.
It would not surprise me to hear a researcher claim that animal experiments were responsible for the invention of the pop-up toaster, too.

Now our procedures are advancing, we are able to produce medicine but here's the pure fact, before a medicine can be truely understood, it MUST BE TESTED on a live subject.

It won't be soon enough, but thank God computer technology is advancing fast enough that simulations will replace animal research (I'm no expert, but from what I"ve read, the success rate of research is so poor we wouldn't lose much by using computer simulations entirely today - but I'm not in a position to say so with any certainty). I can't say whether we 'need' animal testing now or not, but I can say with certainty abuse is unacceptable and can't wait until computers replace it.

I live in Louisiana.... but over 200 miles from this facility... This is a shame and not right. It does not matter if it's for "research" or NOT this is WRONG. Why should this facility be allowed to take newborns from the mothers to experiment on? These animals are clearly abused and terrified. In Heaven's name it's wrong. Animal experimentation has proven invalid to mankind. Countless pharmaceutical drugs are tested on animals and cause fatalities, yet still put on the market. Drug companies are not in the business of saving lives. It is federal grant money from peoples tax money for "research" they gain to collect. Billions of dollars from drug sales keep the industry alive. Both animals and humans are the victims. It is time to ban the medieval ritual of animal experimentation and use modern methods.

When they are in cages by themselves they are in "isolation", yet when they are housed together it is "warehousing". Come on you can't have it both ways. For a start the word isolation means no contact visual or other. They are in cages next to each other, that is in no way isolation. Just remember people next time you are sick and need medication. Where did that medication get its certification to be safe.

Chimps require a great deal of physical activity and plenty of room to move around in.
They are in isolation.
Grouping chimps in a cage until they are need for an experiment is adequately labeled as "warehousing."

I think you are all crazy trying to defend this. This is CRUELTY, you can not tell me that this type of treatment is acceptable. It is not the fact of ANIMAL TESTING here is it the shear cruel treatment imposed on these animals. This video is one-sided and intends to lead the viewer to a foregone conclusion. Your loved ones; real mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, etc., are helped everyday through normal procedure lab experiments. Many of them would be dead or worse. Drug trials have to start somewhere. Would you volunteer to have an injection of a new molecule that hasn't been tested? Who would? So do we just stop looking for cures for Cancer, AIDs etc?
I'm sure the best solution is to find a way to test the molecules without the need for a subject. The problem is, we are years away from such technology/knowledge. Animal testing is a sad but much needed process.

Beyond sending letters to congressman, I encourage everyone to share this video with friends and family so that more people can get involved in ACTING instead of feeling helpless over the matter. There are strength in numbers. If we do nothing nothing will change. My mother sent her congressman a letter and he quickly responded in favor of the BILL H.R. 1326, the Great Ape Protection Act. I also, with caution, urge those concerned to watch the video about the fur trade, if you want to see cruelty at its ugliest, the fur trade has got to be the worst. I am sleepless after watching some of these videos and tormented on how these poor suffering animals can be helped. GOD HELP THEM!

This is an abomination to say the least. I don't even have to ask who the animal is here. Any person who does this is a true monster. They should all be punished for the cruelty they inflict on these animals. They will one day have to answer to thier god and I'm sure he won't be to happy with them, so I know where they'll be going on the day of reckoning and hopefully they go sooner rather than later. thank goodness for the HSUS in this matter.

We must continue to sign petitions and be a voice for these abused animals, if this were happening within a domestic situation these people would be accountable for gross animal cruelty, because labs are paid by cosmetic and drug companies to test 'new' or 'improved' household products, their cruelty is ignored by law, this is wrong! Thank you HSUS for informing the public of the HORROR behind lab doors!

How many years is the US goiing to allow this disgusting practice? And even more horrible is that we're all paying for it with OUR tax money. All animal testing needs to be halted. I will never understand how people can become so cold as to do a job like this. Takes a special kind of bastard willing to do anything for the almightly buck. May god pay them back some day. God created animals, not cages. There must have been a reason for that!

It is a total betrayal to our 'cousins' and the ultimate BAD SCIENCE to boot ! This horrid facility does not stand alone in it's cruelty and lack of compassion by those who work there - it goes on I am sure wherever this greedy and vile occupation is carried out - USA - Canada - Europe - CHINA !!! ? Where are any lab animals free from suffering ? Nowhere !
