@callycat23 Ah okay, thought i might be seeing things or maybe they made the video to look like that, definitely seems pretty interesting though because most guitarists will just string differently.
@BitOveRate Ya, his father is the famous drummer Doyle Bramhall, and he grew up in a house with the Vaughan brothers, all kinds of right handed guitars but it felt right to play them upside down and he just got so used to it. Great player certainly.
Whatever. You're just another disgusting human being. I do not enjoy sleaze and those that do are sleazy. There is nothing good-natured about it. I'm proud to be me and would rather be me than you any day.
An absolutely fabulous classic piece from the not too distant past. I'm not really big on the video itself, but the (too often interrupted) footage of Jimmie & co. working their magic on the strings and skins is truly a wonderful thing to behold.
Doyles daddy Doyle Sr is a great guy as well as a killer blues in the pocket drummer. met him once in a club. He advised me on a Texas shuffle. I was happy since he wrote Cold Shot and Change It. I guess he knew a few things. I was proud and honored
Whew! I have always LOVED this video & I hadn't seen it in a LONG time.
The chick is HOT and she DOES look like Janna. I was living in Chicago back then, Stevie died just north of me @ Alpine Valley. My sis called me from NY FREAKED because the initial reports said Eric Clapton died in the chopper...well, as it turned out, either way, it was a very, very sad day...
Dude is playing a P-bass upside down & NOT re-strung - cool - ala Jimi!
NOPE! The ONLY "Jimi" - (born Johnny Allen) a/k/a James Marshall 'Jimi' Hendrix! Jimi played RH guitars upside-down & re-strung (even basses) because so few LH models were around back then...
This was a spooky video. I remember seeing it for the first time while on vacation. I then learned later , that Stevie had already been dead a few months when this came out on TV......
He sure did, I bought it when it came out many many years ago and consider it a classic now. Stevie and Jimmy sound alike at times, but after all, they grew up playing guitar together, what else would you expect. Jimmy actually taught Stevie quite a bit as he was the older brother and first one of the two playing guitar. In the end, their styles differed somewhat, more or less, but those shared licks and things never go away.
I'm pretty sure the video was recorded after Stevie died. If I remember right, the Family Style album was released just a few weeks after his death. RIP Stevie, you were the greatest!
Bloody cool, isn't it? I thought there was something strange about that guitar & only when i focused the second time did i notice the guy was playing it upside down!! Did he learn it that way as he's left handed & kept it so or what?
This song was great in its time its too bad though I always thought the video didnt do it justice. This was a seductive song and needed more seduction in the video...( Could of been done hotter with better imagination )
The song itself was unforgetable As for the video I just think it could of been done very hot when I hear this song it reminds me of a woman stripping and seducing her man. I guess everyone interprets songs differently. This is definitely one of my all time favorite songs!
@ladybluluv you don't have to be from Texas to appreciate music and talents..but your opinion makes it blatantly obvious you have never been laid by a GOOD Texan..and btw-ur definition of sleazy leads me to believe you grew up in UTAH or someother place that does not enjoy humor and goodnatured sensuality:)
@brucerokohl Im not from Texas nor Chicago but I love Texas blues and what the hell Im not from Mexico but I like burritos, not from italy but like coffee,...lol
Is that Charlie Sexton on drums & Doyle Bramhall on BAss?? I assume this was post Stevies death since hes not in it & the record wasnt released yet either.
