What is this video from? A DVD? If so, is it available somewhere? I don't recall ever seeing/reading about a live video from this time period. Any info is greatly appreciated!
Another vote for the Wal basses here. To me the Fender jazz sounds too dirty in Geddy's hands at least. Almost like Korn or something, too much clickety clacking. (although I built me one) Marcus Miller gets a good tone from them, that's for sure.
Now let's discuss the sound of Neil's Drums form this era compared to now.
I think the Ludwig Super Classics have more balls and blend better with the other intruments. To me DW's are too transparent sounding out in front of the mix.
@cymbalslasher i know where your going at with how much better the ludwigs were in neils hands but the dws sounded way better in the direction of where their genre of music was going.
@RubixTutorial01 They both have their strong points, but I would be very interested to hear some of the newer material (from Test For Echo until now) played on one of the Ludwig sets.
While I respect your opinion, I think his Wal had a wonderful sond. I miss the tones of the 80's. A love the sound of the guitars here, especially Alex's Signature guitars!
@keymaker2112 Presto a very overlooked album, i think it is outstanding, with songs like this one, the Pass, and Presto being very cool tunes, and yeah, you're right, really doesn't matter which album you put on.
The Best 3 Piece Orchestra In the World ..Cheers To my Number 1 Band In The World..From your home town Port Dalhousie St.Catharine's Ont :) God Bless Rush
While I enjoy pretty much all of Rush's material, 'Presto' is one of, if not my favorite. The production and sound was a little thin, but I like it way more than the thick layered super-distorted sound they've been going with since Vapor Trails.
yeah, this was his last double kickdrum tour (still uses the double pedals of course). and i fully agree, this was a kickass tour to see them but very underrated... that was a real nice setlist... Marathon then Red Barchetta leading into Superconductor then Show don't tell... that's some good shit, i'm blasting a soundboard from this tour synched up w/ some of these vids. i remember the intro to this live was real trippy and 3-D, w/ the woman floating outward then the rabbit...
Great to see this live but why the hell wasn't the camera on Geddy during the bass solo? I wanna see those moves!

its from the Presto tour im pretty sure. They filmed it, but never released it as the quality wasn't at the "Rush" standard.

Snakes and Arrows thick and distorted? hahaha, your funny. Vapor Trails did however sound like it was recorded in the bottom of the ocean. lol.

The bass line was to return (slightly altered)
on Malignant Narcissism.
When I first listened to Snakes and Arrows and tried to describe it, I thought "PRESTO on roids".

Does anybody else think Peart is on fire at this show?
He reminds me of Simon Philips during this period. Also, the last time he used double bass drums and pretty much the same setup since Permanent Waves.
