  • sword of doom is very nice too

  • /why Miyamoto Musashi 1954 is colored but not this one ?

  • let play Shogun 2 total war!

  • this is it...top of the you tube list

  • Hermosa película. Grandes personajes femeninos. Indómita dama, Ichi. Geniales el script, la música, la dirección. Sobreabundancia de imágenes antológicas.

  • None can match Kobayashi's sophisticated camera panning.

  • Aber die Dauerversuche super-tief zu sprechen wirken schon etwas lächerlich ... in den Filmen von Kurosawa gibt es das nicht in dem Ausmaß.

  • great movie 5 stars

  • For the love of christ, don't watch this trailer (or at least not all the way through) -- it contains MAJOR spoilers.

    Movie is absolutely amazing!

  • probably T. Mifuni's greatest film.

  • I agree with all of you. This is one of the very few really feminist chanbara/jidai-geki films I've ever seen, Toshiro Mifune is the love of my life, and the music brings me to tears. I would watch this movie all day, and not just because Toshiro is hot as hell.

  • Just watched this movie. Best. Samurai. Movie. Evar. It's a thinking man's Samurai movie. It questions everything about the Feudal Japan society rules and tradition. Great chick flick too---Women will like this film for the strong dramatic element. Gorgeous, exquisite cinematography . Mifune was on the top of his game, and in the film's final climax, outdoes Boromir and John Wayne as the baddest, toughest warrior that ever drew a sword

  • this looks like a great film. i hope this doesn't spoil the movie.

  • My father who passed away last year and also served in the Japanese Navy during WWII always told me he thought Mifune embodied Japan's spirit the most. I was so shocked to read just a month ago that Mifune said he always did his best to that very thing. I also read many years ago, that Paul Newman considered Mifune the actor's actor.

  • Toshiro Mifune was the greatest film actor of the 20th century. There's not an actor alive today who can come even close to matching him. He had it all: passion, intensity, warmth, manliness, versatility and power .Samurai Rebellion Rebellion was one of his greatest roles and the movie itself is arguably one of the three greatest films ever made. He has always been my greatest inspiration. God, how I miss him.

  • @AlexanderBarnett so true, astounding in every film he was in - Mifune and Nakadai the 2 greatest actors of all time.. Kurosawa and Kobayashi perhaps the 2 best directors as well

  • @AlexanderBarnett nakdai was better

  • @THEKAKI2012 Nakadai had his own drama similar to this one in Harakiri. A good movie with a nice bloodshed in the end.

  • i heard that someone is going to do a remake of this with tom cruise and tom hanks...no just kidding...this is easily one of the best samurai movies i have seen.

  • @phantom5691

    Don't scare me like that!

  • got this from netflix and watched it today. Amazing :D what a great samurai flick.

  • a very dramatic and suspensful movie one of my favorite Mifune films.

  • can somebode tell me titles of this kind of movies i love it. I saw hara-kiri and i love it

  • these kind of movies are called "Chambara"

  • thanx

  • here's a few samurai movies worth checking out-

yojimbo, sanjuro, sword of doom, sword of the beast, assasination, samurai assasin- if i remember rightly most of those star Toshiro Mifune from this movie. the first 2 listed are by Kurosawa, one the best best directors who ever lived...

  • thank you big time

  • also add Seven Samurai, Ran, and the Zatoichi films although Ichi is a yakuza it's full of Samurai action 25 films all staring Katsu Shintaro.

  • Seven Samurai is the best one ever get that before anything else

  • hara-kiri's my favorite Samurai movie hands down, and I've seen almost all of them.I also like the Yasujirō Ozu films(non-Samurai).

  • I really enjoyed this movie

    and "Seppuku" too.

Fans of these movies don't miss it.
