Makes me wanna ROAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRR, ROAAAAAAARRRRRR, but then my wife just looks weird to me........fck it, ill just do it. ROAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRR
@USgovernmentLies Or just called it what it is. A tribute band. paying tribute to your brother. Is not saying well you know who they are goig into the next song. Must be afraid to call them by thier names. some of the younger crowd might know. This is just Gary and some hired hands. I really wonder who is getting a original member's cut? But the R.R.H.F got it right. Only Gary got a trophy and all the other's still alive but not in the band. The relatives of them no longer withus. MAY THEY RIP
GEE LORD ALMIGHTY, why didn't you do your research? this is holy territory....when it come to southerrn rock, Skynyrd is the high priest.....not neseccarily this version of the band, but, ther pickin' is there, not quiet on Stevies' level, but the TRIBUTE is there, kinda/sorta.....I'm a true blue fan.....Stevie rules...
It sounds like there is some confusion about who's playing this. Although most of the pictures in the slideshow show the band before the plane crash, this is the band after the crash, with the youngest Van Zant brother Johnny singing, along with Gary Rossington, Ricky Medlocke (formerly of Blackfoot), Billy Powell, etc. This may be from the Vicous Cycle Tour, which would mean it's Ean Evans on bass.
@mjl0002 This is from the 1998 live album Live from Steel Town. It's Johnny Van Zant, Ricky Medlocke, Huey Thomasson, Gary Rossington, Leon Wilkeson, Billy Powell, Dale Rossington and Carol Chase on backups, and some dude on drums whose name I forgot.
@mjl0002 - This is INDEED the NEWER version of the band and appears on the "Lyve - The Vicious Cycle Tour" cd. Lineup: Lead Vocals - Johnny Van Zant; Guitars - Gary Rossington, Hughie Thomasson, Rickey Medlocke (there is an e in his name); Bass - Ean Evans; Piano/Keyboard - Billy Powell; Drums/Percussion - Michael Cartelleone.
Ronnie (to me the greatest lead vocalist and lyricist ever - (yes better than Lennon and Morrison)), was more of a bluesy sound. Johnny's got a harder rock sound
@mjl0002 U R right about that - it's from Vicous Cycle Tour. There's a DVD of the concert they did in Nashville. 2003 was the year and Johnny van Zandt kept tellin' the audience that LS performed there back in 1973, so that was 30 years between the gigs. I can for shure recommend U to buy the DVD cause they R smokin' hot! Hughie Thomasson (check him out with his band Outlaws) owns the stage of them three guitarists with his amazing soloing - R.I.P. Hughie!
wow they really cant keep up to what steve gaines did. I really don't like the new band, especially because there's only one original member. Rickey Medlocke is not an original member...
