When I first heard this song, I pictured the vocalist (in this instance, Michael Ruff, but I didn't realize that it was him back then) looking out from a log cabin on a mountain hillside at the deep snow... footprints of his lady who had left him in the early morning... and although a fire was keeping him warm, he was sad and chilled by her absence as she had just turned and walked away. And now the 'new snow' was falling to cover her footprints and perhaps his feelings, too. A poetic moment.

you wouldn't happen to have this part written out or anything would you? ha i'm fifteen and flim and the BB's has been one of my FAV bands for as long as i can remember.. i've been playing piano for twelve years.. and i've ALWaySS wanttedd to play this song... and i've taken this video and have tried to play it on my piano... but when i have tried.. its been really hard the pitches are off between the recording and the key its actually in.. idk haha but i would be SO SO gratefulllllll=]]]

I haven't written out my piano part for this yet, but I might get to that someday. Keep in mind that I am playing this as a "C" arrangement, while my digital piano is transposed to Ab (which is the actual base key of the song on the CD recording). I do many pop songs like this so that they can be played in easier keys for learning purposes. And, as far as I know, you won't find any published sheet music for Billy Barber or Flim & the BBs.

I don't think you'lll find any of Bill's or Flim's songs in print. Bill did some film score work (Mystery Science Theatre 3000: The Movie and theme to All My Children) for TV. But mostly their music for DMP were direct digital recordings of live studio performances, and that's not the sort of thing which often gets transcribed, notated, or published. If any tunes were likely to be published, I would say: New Snow, All My Children, and a song called Funhouse which is on Billy's "Lighthouse" CD.

I first heard Billy Barber in a solo piano recording years ago on a jazz station in the Seattle Aiport.. Magical.

I have had a hard time finding out where to get his marvelous recordings and music.

Your version of this song is absolutely beautiful. (You also have the same piano I have).

Thank you, Peter, for your kind remarks. Although I love playing along with this song, this take was just a practice and not the best audio mix when completed. And my fingering looks a little strange from the side, doesn't it? Well, I'll just have to do another video of this one because I like the song too much to let it go.
