okey hey well i have a problem when i click on another computer or whateve it say's (\windows cannot acces this folder.\make sure you typed the file name correctly and that you have permission to acces the folder. Details: A connection with the server could not be established.:( please reply and tell me what can i do:) i have a pc and a laptop and i want to transfer some files from my pc to laptop and the only thing that i have it's a LAN cable:) please HELP me
so you need a router right? (i got a linksys 4-way) I wanna get some general knowledge on this b4 i actually do this. Looks legit though, thnx. It's hard to find a working method to file transfer.
I have Linksys' router, too so I don't think you would have problems. It's good to check first that you have NAT enabled. To do that - press WIN+R -> cmd -> Ok -> ipconfig. If your IP-address begins 192.168.1 you are good to go. Just remember to allow Quick 'n Easy with your firewall.
If you want to access your files from remote computer outside your LAN, you have to redirect port 21 to your server-computer. You can find a guide in portforward dot com
Thanks alot man... Great!!!
