As far as I know, it's the Americans who always like to give people nicknames and short forms of their names. I always had problems with American colleagues who insisted on abbreviating my name, although I told them I didn't want them to. As far as I know, it's the Americans who always like to give people nicknames and short forms of their names. I always had problems with American colleagues who insisted on abbreviating my name, although I told them I didn't want them to. Anyway, I would say 'Jacko' sounds quite endearing - it's not an insult. It's a bit like 'Ringo' or 'Ozzy' ;-)
