Hi ya,just like to say that you are so brave, also you look very well in yourself! my dad had the same operation 9 years ago and he's 68 years young and still working away with his own business which he started over 35 years ago. his scar now just looks like a small white line. id like to finish in saying, my family and I wish you a long and happy life. well done, you are an inspiration to us all.
be good, with love from the Heavey family from ireland.
Very cool man. I'm an ICU nurse, and its very interesting to hear a young person's perspective after the fact. I only see them until they go to the regular floor, and sometimes I wonder what, if anything, they thought of their ICU experience. Which valve(s) did you get? Stay well man.
Hi, i have found your video very positive - where did u have your op? my Dad has just got his date for his operation on 17th December which probably means he will be in Papworth Christmas day :( but after watching your diary i feel much happier as it is a very worrying time for us all - you are an inspiration n hope you are still doing well - how long was you in hospital after the op ??......take care buddy Caroline x
How long did you stay at the hospital? I'm havin open heart surgery in 3 weeks, it's not my first heart surgery, but the last wasn't open heart. There replacing my aortic valve.
hello, tomorrow will be 4 weeks since I had an aortic valve replacement. It really depends on how long you stay in the hospital. I was admitted on a Wednesday and I thought I would go home on Sunday, but I had some chest tube complications and I was in for a total of 9 days. Hope all goes well and God Bless. I'm almost completely recovered now, still a little sore in my chest, but I'm doing good
I was in hospital for 9 days too, just got back friday actually. Everything went well, I woke up this morning and saw that part of the incision opened up a little, should I be worried about that?
May I ask how are you feelings this days? Coz I'm afraid every minute i'm waiting for the schedule of my heart operation...I'm scheduled for a PDA ligation at the same time mitral valve repair...I'm so afraid.
Life is good mate - the worry and the wait is worse than the op and the recovery, im back enjoying life, it all seems a long time ago now :) I hope you pull through and get back to normal too!
Well, congratulations to you! So all it takes is courage to beat the odds. And yes! Its great to be alive...by all means I do my best to be alive...Thanks.
The pain meds made me sick too! I noticed everytime they gave me morphine I'd get sicker than a dog. I finally told my nurse "stop giving me that!" LOL
i've always been really sick after my surgeries (i also have a heart disease) i havent had open heart for about 10 years, but i've had a lot of cathaters and minor surgeries. I assumed it was the anaesthetic - i no wonder whether it might be the morphine shot they give me before i come out of the operating room...interesting! Might ask to not have it next time! :D
What were your symptoms on this heart valve leaky? Just curious cause my son has two leaky heart valves.
He was in the yard and said that he couldnt raise his arms and dizzy and had a hard time breathing..scared me a bit but docotor said let him live a normal life..he's allergic to everything and meats is why he said that ..strange man..
I personally had NO day to day symptoms - I did have 2 episodes of palpitations, but even during these i felt completely normal, however everyone expereinces different symptoms - i recommend doing a search for "valve replacement forum" - they have a lot of knowledge and expereince there
i had heart surgery do u have congenital like me>>>
