Outstanding work Monsterz - I use Sketchup in many of my classes, and your tutorials and website have given me a whole new area of exploration. I am currently creating my own 'tank girl'.
Perfect vids! Gives excelent instructions on how to make complex figures like a human. the speed is so good, i mean YES finaly somebody who knos that we are not morons and are able to figure out what is going on, just by watching:) thanks again
umm..its not a waste of work! actually its pretty awesome! and i actually needed this video to do a prject for one of my classes so u dont have to be such a critic!!!
just a thing...i would like to know if its possible to model your own face...using imported photos to su of your front and side face...did u try? its possible?
how do u do that "Reflections" kinda at between 9:44 - 9:45? You create a sort of mirror vision of the leg component. I need to know how u do that pls!!
I couldn't tell how you made the circles on the legs of the character. What tool did you use? I know you scaled them, but how did you create the circles on the pants?
I drew one circle with the circle tool, sized it close to what it needed to be, then used the pull too (extrude) it. I'm creating the sections with an eye towards the details I know I'm going to need to fill in later.
can you make mirror effect just like in blender?

@rodisnothere Yes, select the objects, create component, copy the component and flip the copy along the relevant axis

I would highly encourage you to try a program like 3ds Max, or Maya.

@iurak6868 maybe he doesn't have that money. blender is better anyways because it's free, and is as almost as good as those softwares.

I pity you so much. I can't imagine what you could do with a real 3D package. Stop wasting your time in Sketchup!

Wow, so you CAN do actual characters in Sketch-up. LOTS of scaling, I see. Nice work.

I also have a question: How do you make a graduated cylinder like that? i.e., one cylinder made up of several.
RexZemenheart 2 years ago
Press 'ctrl' to make a new segment when push/pulling.

i think it is possible to do it but you have also to "guess" some aspects of your face.
Freakingeediot 3 years ago
Oops. I think I missed that last post. There is absolutely no reason you can't build your own face using photos.

I am amazed each time by the possibilities in SU.
Where did you learn do use SU like that? how long are you using it?
Netanel17 4 years ago
I dont think this will help anyone, just to fast.
funxstarter 4 years ago
poolshark is correct, by hitting ctrl while using the pull tool you will add sections.
For further information on how I build characters in SU check out the link in the video info. I wrote a post about my methods.
monsterz3r0 4 years ago
Yeah, how did you divide the cilinder into sections?
I see the sections just appearing there suddenly.
ViperVen0m 4 years ago
you have to push ctrl then you will see a little plus sign next to your curser
poolshark152006 4 years ago
can you tell me how to do that, like what tools did u use and your method

Amazing, I didn't think that quality was possible with sketchup. I couldn't make that with a professional type app like Blender.
