I agree that gold is a good investment, but a laptop is not, in a sense. A well made rug will survive generations and increase in value, while a laptop is outdated as soon as you open the box. Machine-carpets are usually of inferior wool quality and will be worthless within a few years, plus a carpet the design of which looks perfect is plain boring.

they have these blankets/coat things. But they are usually trimmed in the summer or in warmer weather for that very reason

sheep actually have to be sheared, because in the spring and summer it gets too hot for them under all that wool. in the winter, the wool grows back and keeps them warm. do you really think that they would kill every sheep they take wool from?
