This movie was just fine. Brett ratner simply took what was the story elements that were left over and concluded them. So, don't hate ratner for finishing a trilogy. Hate synger for leaving one.

@cherr010 The Dark Phoenix storyline was completely mishandled as was the mutant cure (which was completely new to the movie franchise and thus had nothing to do with Singer). I have no doubt that countless other directors could have come on to the third film and made something great or at least good out of it. So yeah, it sucks that Singer left X-Men to do Superman Returns but that doesn't excuse Ratner and the rest of the creative team on X3 for doing a thoroughly mediocre job.
