Lighting brings out something in its true form, the brighter the better. If soemthing is dark originally, it will still appear dark..but if somethign is light(as in light skintone) it will show up light. I hate dim/dark dinky rooms where the person holds up an eyeshadow color fo rexample and it looks black when its "green".
Hey there. Just wanted to say hi. I first found you while I was looking for voice tips and just wanted to let you know I did find them very helpful. With a little practice people that never knew me before can't tell by listening to me. I now have started to keep up with more of your newer posts because you always seem up beat and willing to give good, solid advice. Keep up the good work. You're and inspiration.
I just started web cam modeling and I just started a blog bc I know how hard it is to get support. It is a job that no-one wants to talk about for some reason. I cant tell you how nervous I was about starting bc I didnt know what to expect. These videos are incredibly helpful. I hope you dont mind but im going to post a link to my blog here. It only has three posts so far but I hope that webcam models can somehow find suppport somehow. *incognitocamgirl.blogspot.com*
Thanks for the Webcam update , it really is helpful. If I can comment on piercings , frankly don't understand TourmalineSurfer's issues and wish judgements on anyone are really so unnecessary , don't you think?
@TourmalineSurfer You also do realize that piercing has been around for thousands of years right? The only difference is the popularity in the places people are getting pierced. In the 1990s for example, the eyebrow and tongue were very popular, and not the labret, and gauges are seen more often as well as the monroe. The fact is that your observation is not fact, and until you can provide data that backs up your claim, it's simply unfounded opinion.
@TourmalineSurfer Using words like mutilated shows just how emotionally charged you are on such a minor thing, and you are calling me out on being invested? I use actual data, while you are using your own observation. Science is based on gather able evidence, not some personal aversion.
What evidence do you have to back up your blatant generalization that people who have EVER had facial piercing aren't successful? Show me verifiable statistics considering you are making the claim.
@TourmalineSurfer Fading in more civilized places? So are you saying that Boston, Rhode Island and San Francisco aren't civilized? What exactly are you basing your assertions on? I have 3 friends with booming businesses in large cities with the bookings to prove it, while you're simply relying on self observation? Guess who is more credible.
Your personal feelings in relation to your cousin's experience don't matter frankly.
1. Not a passing fad as I have a few friends who do body piercing and they are swamped with business
2. Brooks Brothers is certainly not the place to apply for a job if one is set on having a facial piercing. I used to sell high end watches and I would never have dreamed of getting pierced and expect to keep my job.
3. Define victim. I could make the statement that because she did so voluntarily that she is expressing her individuality, and thereby more free in a sense
FYI you can make a cheap light diffuser with a piece of white posterboard. Face the lamp towards the center of it about a foot or two away, the reflection from the big peice of posterboard will give you a larger light source without harsh intense light.
The light bulbs... are they soft lights? I find that some lights make me look older than I am and that's a real downer! I have this high lamp that is just like yours and it makes me look like I have huge circles under my eyes. It's on the side of my desk just like yours is. Go figure.
They diminish depth differences - making your nose and other facial features smaller. That's why when you watch baseball - shot with a long-distance lens - it looks like the pitcher is right on top of the batter.
Hah. That was cool. I had realized from day 1 that lighting would be a big deal. I'm not bad, not so far, anyway, but I'm one of those people who never believes she can't do better. I'll see what I can look up on the topic. Thanks, hun.
I once read where some 1930s movie star... Harlow... Crawford... Garbo... used to demand and get people they had worked with before and trusted to do the lighting on their pictures... Yeah lighting is that important... Thanks for posting... now about cleaning the sfuff off your dresser before letting the whole world see it... er sorry it's my Mom talking:)

Finally, someone has spoken out about the most neglected subject on YouTube, lighting! You are a light in the wilderness.

@TourmalineSurfer Your comments are also eerily similar to a troll I dealt with a month or so ago.

@Rh1no1 The standing one is positioned farther away and to the side, so it isn't much of an issue. I just use regular bulbs.
karmatic1110 8 months ago
@Rh1no1
Long distance lenses make you look younger.
They diminish depth differences - making your nose and other facial features smaller. That's why when you watch baseball - shot with a long-distance lens - it looks like the pitcher is right on top of the batter.
Close-up lenses make you look older
