  • HAHAHAHA! ..how a cousin should.

  • Thanx dude, really helped me out!

  • Rock on man!!!! awesome movie but just a little practise on you singing an play coordination

  • what notes and what order do you play with the right hand at 1:41 to 1:43 ? I watched the video that part like 50 times trying to learn it but I still cant figure it out.

  • Why in the first video you teach the left hand 1 way, but in this video you teach it another way? I just learned the left hand in the first video only to find it different in this video... a little aggravating

  • Merci pour la leçon

    Encore bravo pour la méthode

  • i watched this for 1hour, now i can play it. Slowly but surely. Thanks.

  • Thankyou:)..Cant wait to play it as well as you!

    Have always loved Jerry Lee

  • YOU VIDEOS ARE SO MUCH BETTER AND EASY TO FOLLOW THAN SO MANY OTHERS...THANK YOU SO MUCH

  • I saw Jerry Lee Lewis live about 25 years ago, so I've also been a fan for a long time,. I just think you could express your opinions in a more constructive manner.

  • Great lessons for people that never able to play but always able to pay XD

  • Wow your little cousin comment was almost as pathetic as your playing. you play it terribly. folks, you wanna learn JLL piano learn from the KILLER HIMSELF, buy Killer Piano off Amazon and he shows you how to play his songs. to waste your time on wannabe's like this LOSER.

  • @AuroraBorealisAK

Hi Aurora, just wondering if you would call this guy a loser and pathetic to his face? By the way, Chris, you should change the name of your website to bestpianolessons because your videos I have seen have all been superb, excellent playing and instruction, very inspiring...

  • @maxLeifermann Sorry you don't know me, and yes I would especially when it comes to Jerry Lee Lewis. so why don't you stop pretending like you are a fan as well. I have been a fan my whole life and I cant stand losers like this and you..

  • You explain that you're supposed to use your left thumb to alternate between the 5th and 6th. When you're playing though, I notice you're actually alternating between your index finger and thumb. I was wondering why? Good video btw, thanks!

  • @eriksensei2 - you can do both. using the thumb only is easier to get started with... the pointer finger and thumb is a little trickier. When i'm playing I ending up doing both and not really thinking about it too much. as long as it sounds good you're fine!

  • @chrismarx85 Thanks for the response. I find that using the same finger (thumb in this case) instead of adjacent ones can increase the choppiness of a pattern. But you're right of course; as long as it sounds good, you're fine. Anyway, keep up the great work. Cheers!

  • awesome

  • Really well done video, thanks for sharing.

    Cheers

  • u sing pretty good!! =)

  • Oh, you are awesome. Thanks a lot!

  • the shadow from the sharps look so ... alive...

  • like a cousin should? XDlol

  • this video is such a good help, thanks man

  • I've got the need....

  • Very nice tutorial and nice voice also :D

  • could you make one for Lewis Boogie?

  • awesome lesson! just one thing, "I'm gonna love you like a cousin should"?

  • @seriousgamer64 He was married to his cousin, she was 13

  • @gertjanramone i knew that, my point was that those aren't the original lyrics

  • Thank you so much! I love this song and I'm only in my fifth year of piano, so your slower tutorial was really helpful. I'm playing this for a high school talent show, and thanks to you, I know it will be great!

  • Nice Piano. What kind is it?

  • Hey Cool Lessons. Could you please do the original solo to Great Balls Of Fire? Thanks, Rob

  • great lesson for a great song. great stuff.

    tc

  • Wow, great job. Nice teaching pace -- brisk enough to keep our attention, yet detailed enough to actually learn. If you ever run out of tutorial subjects, consider "Please Mister Postman," the great Marvelettes song. Been trying to find a simple sheet music arrangement of it for years -- with no success.

  • This doesn't come from the music sheets you can buy? does it?

  • I like the video so much but where can i get the video with the solo?

  • so cool.. thank you.. it's so understandable (: greeeeat

  • pirate off family guy's version was way better. Ecspecially with that ending solo!!!

  • @2videomaker I haven't heard that. I'll go youtube it! Thanks for the reference.

  • Your voice, it's so awesome. *__*

  • nice , you have real good voice

i tried this from sheets , but thats way to much detailled

this is a way better version

just use ing my imagination for right hand :D

  • was the "I wanna love you like a cousin should" some kind of shot at him? xD

  • AWESOME! Thanks!

  • Do you have sheets for that?

  • Ooh, low blow on the cousin part. Hehe, though, I must admit, I did laugh. :p

  • i think im going to include it on my performance, lol

  • LOL...love you like a cousin should ;)

    nice one

  • I really dig it, man! When I learn this song, I'll be able to say I can play something. This really helped me a lot, thanks.

  • WOW. Not just an amazong piano player...you can sng too! ;)

  • Thanks :)

    I appreciate it!

  • tnx for video, much better to understand than last one, because that keyboard on top you can see all the notes u played

    GREAT JOB

  • I've been wanting to learn this song for a looonnngggg time. Ever since "Top Gun" came out. Who KNEW that the same exact chords I play and mess around with would be the only chords I need to know. I know that old time rock and roll used a limited amount of chords but seriously....this song sounded impossible. Now, I'm rockin' it!!! Chris you are a genius and I wish you lived in Chicago, I would so pay for a lifetime of lessons from you!!!! Thank you!!!

  • haha! same here :p top gun ftw B)

  • Whats the programm you use

  • Thanks Cris ^) that was cool)

waiting for tutorial on "whole lotta shaking" ^))))

  • Still gotta learn it!!! :(

I have a few paid video requests to get to first... and then THINGS WILL START SHAKING

  • @raubritter222 whole lotta is extremly easy its the exact same chord progression C,F,G and with less bombast....

  • Cool, I learned the whole song in about 5-10 minutes thanks to you :D

  • Thats great! Congratulations!

  • How Did You Get The Notes Above The Piano What Is It And How Did You Make It Move When You Played? I May Do That For One Of My Videos If It Don't Cost Much

  • haha i must say that your solo improvisation sounds just awesome, i got to steal that :)

  • i've been studying dr john and new orleans style piano a lot lately. Thats a little bit of that slipping in :D

  • Wow a song that i considered impossible only minutes ago now seems alot more possible. nice!

  • Thank god. You're back lol.

  • I think i could learn this.

The only part I have trouble with so far is sliding my hand down the keys around 1:20

  • that part is physically really easy!

I mean the coordination isn't hard to put together.

The tricky part is making sure you don't drag any skin from your thumb on the keys.

  • i want the solo video! :) good job man

  • I have some videos on licks to put in your solos on my blog :) Thanks Fenix!
