You are completely wrong on this. Nothing was happening until he stopped talking. He asked his questions, then stood there waiting patiently for an answer.
He was done.
THEN the guards came for him. Guards whom a moment ago were standing peaceably by.
He was forceful, demanding, controversial -- and he hit a lot of good points in his EXACTLY 1:30 seconds. I would say that is being damn brief for 3 solid questions.
You are sick. Andrew did not tramp over other people's questions. He is my senator and I am ashamed of Kerry. You need to stop listening to mainstream media. Jerk
Yeah, they stuck that taser in his back as soon as he got up there and asked a question.
Wait.. Maybe not, maybe they didn't do that but instead maybe he overstayed his welcome and they tried to move it on and he fought back and resisted and THEN they tasered him.
Naaah, silly me, as soon as he asked his question ZZZZAP!
Probably would have been doing everyone a favor if they had...
Joking aside, he was acting like a child. I see this in my younger brother; screaming that they didn't do anything wrong, despite the fact that they clearly did. The more you dispute it and force the issue, the more they scream and flail about how they've done nothing wrong and everyone is out to get them. I feel zero pity for this man (and I use man in the most broadest sense possible...if you act like this, you're a child).
Glad to see you condone torture as a method of enforcing your own beliefs! Maybe you should just shoot the next person who has a difference of opinion, that way the democracy will peacefully exist with everyone thinking your way.
The kid asked about John kerry and George Bush being in the elite Skul and bones group together at Yale. Kerry and Bush was in fact both part of the Skull and Bones group at the same time!!! That shows the election was rigged. Thats why he got tazored and treated like that....he was exposing the elections being riged!!!!
Argus is always on the side of the powers that be. He is an apologist who does not wish to see change. Conservatives bound to their abusers, its just their nature. ^ out of 10 pople will support a sociopathic leader without question, that is just the fact of human nature. 6 out of 10, quite scary. Argus wants us to all be civilized as they put us on the trains, don't worry he promises, you'll be able to speak your mind at the camp.
If I am libertarian leaning and want smaller government then how does this tie in with "being put on trains"? The nazi party were the National Socialist German Workers Party. You need a socialist party to do stuff like that.
A fascist government is when corporations run the government. Libetarians are unintentional fascists because that is what liberatrian programs would do. The government is full of many instruments and when corp leaders rule, they fill the orchestra with terrible muscicians. When a great leader rules the symphony is sweet. Libertarians solution is to throw away the instruments rather than find talented people who can play.
Its like the dismantling the federal reserve and moving to gold. What a stupid idea. Give power over the world's money supply to gold mine owners. Libertarians haven't thought throuh any of their knee jerk dismissals of government agencies.
free, you're a scary and stupid person. The real answers are nary a click away but your tendancy to make up your own reality is oft depressing to hear, as is your recicence to not recognise this ever..
fascism:
1. A system of government marked by centralization of authority under a dictator, stringent socioeconomic controls, suppression of the opposition through terror and censorship, and typically a policy of belligerent nationalism and racism.
I have watched several vids that you have favorited and commented on and posted in the last few days, and you seem like a really cool person with alot of interesting ideas, but I think on this particular argument you need to do a little more research.
What many fail to realize is the socialist worker party was right wing conservative. Also fascism puts a dictator in place by the monpolies that be. Business leaders thought hitler was great. His fascism was a corporate takeover of govt.
There is no such thing as a free mkt economy because agriculture, the basis of all civilization, can't surive in a free mkt. Overporduction leads to price collapse and farm failure. Its chronic, that is why all agriculture has been nationalized. There is no such thing as a competitive mkt either Price are now administered by oligolpolies who divide market share profitably between established players. So all mkts are controlled, subsidized, etc, whether by public or prvate entities.
Plus the basis of all market activity, the supply of money is anything but a free mkt phenomenom. and lastly there are diffent types of capitalism. some forms concentrate property into a two class system of have and have-nots, while other forms of capitalism distribute property broadly enough to create a thriving middle class.
A three class capitalism is called a meritocracy cause the middle class allows social mobility so talent can be rewarded. A 2 class capitalism solidifies into a caste system where positions a determined by birthright(resources and connections).
That is why I am a progressive capitaist because I believe in private property, (everyone should have some), and competitive mkts more in the Louis brandeis theory of capitalism. And thus I support the creation of a meritocracy (growing middle class). Libertarian policiesare devastating to a middle class, because the MC is not a free mkt phenomenom. Otherwise history would be full of growing MCs.The MC is a conscious social construct.
people like you creat the nuke, people like you suport hitler, bush, sharon and other stupids.......people like you are brave only with a gang o arms..... obey and by a slave
But many people frame this issue in terms of freedom of speech, which is a mischaracterization. Why? Because, if he hadn't resisted the guards then he wouldn't have been tazed. His resistance is what escalated the problem. Why was he led away? Because he was abusing his position and each forum has rules (this one included).
The level of discussion on the topic given the facts I have mentioned above, is stultifying in its stupidity.
And I still don't understand you. And I mentioned that this is not about freedom of speech, why not try refuting my lengthy post above about this issue?
I'm intrigued, really, to know how you can still hold these beliefs in the face of reality.
Citizens may resist unlawful arrest to the point of taking an arresting officer's life if necessary." Plummer v. State, 136 Ind. 306. This premise was upheld by the Supreme Court of the United States in the case: John Bad Elk v. U.S., 177 U.S. 529.
In many cases they do. Observe the comments of the people here who want me to be tased for expressing an opinion (that's against your whole point - duuh). Also observe the guy who wanted my mum tased for what I said. Simplistic childish fits of the infant minded.
I really cannot believe that anyone in the so-called land of free speech could ever defend using that kind of force on someone simply speaking his mind.
From the clips I have seen it seems to have a been a gross over-reaction by the police and it really doesn't matter how annoying a student is when questioning a candidate.
You don't electrocute him and bundle him off to jail.
Then shame on me, Rob. The right of free speech does mean the right to deprive others, and the right to disrupt decorum. The forum was understood, and adhered to by everyone else except this jerk. Come to the mic & ask your question, go back to your set, allow the next. This jerk did not do that, but, continued on, and on - as if no rules of decorum existed, but his own. No one else has rights now but him, is waht some of you half wits are saying...
... If you can't have control of a forum like this (not gestopo - just normal rules of decorum in society) - then you have a break down where jerks like this rights' to disrupt a forum, trumps yours to enjoy it un-interrupted. You empower the idiots like this to come in and shut down any speech they want to disrupt. Free speech is more threated by this, than tasering a publicity seeking moron.
He continued resisting arrest, and you can clearly see in some of these clips, him continuing to break his arms free, and they couldn't get him cuffed. He brought it upon himself by resisting too long. He had several minutes to go peacefully, it is clear that was not his intent.
In the midst of someone unlawfully resisting a lawful action by the police ... they do not have the luxury of playing pattycake with him ... they actually acted with great restraint
whoops - there should have been a "not" here in post: "Then shame on me, Rob. The right of free speech does "NOT" mean the right to deprive others, and the right to disrupt decorum." - didn't even notice that before.
For those like you who don't understand free speech here correctly in this context: You have a right, or this jerk here, to have your own platform, or forum, or speaking engagement (like this) to amplify your views. Have your own forum if you want. But, you do NOT have the right to deprive others of ANY of thier rights, or disrupt the freedom of assembly of others. Notice the left "demand" their free speech, but, are intent on shutting up others they don't agree with.
lol i TOTALLY agree, I am a college student and I take no offense to the police tazering that twat,
The fact that he was not allowing Kerry to answer his questions and instead just kept ranting on shoes that he was not there for the pursuit of knowledge, just to get the rush of shooting his mouth off at john kerry, by acting the way he did he was cutting off free speech in the adress and not letting any new ideas progress. and yeah the whole drama queen bit was just asking for a tazering
I would like to know why you made the video so dark? So that it looks like he's fighting the police? You don't have the courage to show the video with light because your point will be proven to be wrong. You might as well work for Fox News.
This video was all over the tv, and it can be found in brighter tint, as if this is the only place this video exists, and it's a con job. Geezse, do your parents know you are posting on youtube? And your anti-Fox comment shows your bias. CNN, MSNBC, NBC, ABC, CBS, PBS, NPR NY & LA Times are all bastians of the liberals/left. One news org(FOX)vs all these admitted/documented democrat promoters, yet, FOX is singled out here as biased. indoctrinatedmind4evr would be a better posting name for you.
I agree completely this guy knew damn well what he was doing was disruptive. Still...the police did take it just a bit too far. There was wrong on both sides...mostly the kids.
The point that the tasering itself was too much can be debated.
Personally I don't mind. It leaves behind much less damage than a club to the head. They did try to work with him for a long time before the tasering. If someone is going to struggle for that long then they are going to keep struggling. When you get to that point you need an incapacitating technology like a taser or pepper spray to stop them.
First of all, he didnt need to be escorted anywhere, he needed to be asked to stop FIRST. Then they tell him you are disturbing the crowd plz stop or something like that. THEN grab him and start tasering him, But THEY DID NOT, so anything after the cops grab him, is their fault. And they should just get fired. Despite getting fired means financial struggle, every action has a consequence. That is totally not true, if it is, then all of those cops should be fired.
First of all, I think he was asked to stop his behaviour. He was heckled on his behaviour and asked to ask his questions. The crowd was so fed up with his actions that when he was led away they clapped. Says bucketloads.
Secondly. If he had not resisted, would he have been tased? The answer is no. As the lowest level of inference, we can deduct that his resistance to the police is the action that resulted in his tasing.
Cheers, I really must say that it wasn't exactly 100% my own idea.. I.e. I ripped it off.
This issue came up on the Mike McConnell show and a caller called in and mentioned how it reminded him of the scene in Monty Python. *ting* light bulb goes off above my head and here we are. Someone beat me to it though, if you check out the video responses to the original video then there is one there called "HELP! I'M BEING OPPRESSED!" which is just the clip from the film.
Funny how Kerry still wanted to ANSWER his questions! Yet he was pulled away when he was in a civil discorse??? ArusEyes you are truly pathetic you know that?!? If you watched the UNEDITED version on youtube the student barely went over his 1min of FREE SPEECH and his hole point was to INFORM the MASSES before the grabbed him yet you didnt show all that. Hmm Why dont you go get the unedited version of this incident and then blog your bull sh!t.
I swear. The next person that if one more person comes on here talking about how this boy had his freedom of speech violated. I'm going to start bellowing.
The guy staged it and made a name for himself. He has the right to free speech--however that does not mean he can do it whereever and whenever he pleases--especially when he is preventing others from speaking. He can address the government in numerous other ways if he feels he did not get enought ime. He violated the rules, he was asked to leave, then he was forced to leave. It's really quite simple. Try disregarding security at any place and you will get the exact same treatment.
mox lotus.... seriously man. He has the right to free speech as far as it does not stop others rights. he was not stopping them, he asked 3 questions. he had those questions to ask john kerry right then, so why should he wait? there was time and it was his turn. he was not breaking security. The problem is that and HOW he was forced to leave. If you go speak to long somewhere...anywhere...and you are forced down by being tazered, does that help freedom of speech???
He was preventing others from speaking He already asked his questions It was time 4 some1 else to speak He wouldnt let any other questions to be asked because he was speaking despite being asked to stop. He was not tasered for speaking-but cuz not leaving after breaching the etiquette of the Q&A forum&after being asked to leave. was it cuz of his speech? No-it was because he broke the rules Go to any place break the rules refuse to leave quietly and you will get thrown out
Exactly, like comments here. A guy below made a comment that he thought that my mother should be tased for me making this video.
He wont be around any more. Ever.
So did I violate his freedom of speech? Nope, he can go elsewhere and say that but when you comment here you are in my forums which operates on the unspoken rules of human decency. btw, if you can't meet that requirement then you are incapable of being a decent person.
In a democratic society beholden to the constitution he has every right to address the government he only asked three questions and if you see the full version not the faux cnn versions youll see that they were asked quickly his rights were violated and he was not violent so they didnt need to be violent
people calling others idiots because you THINK they think they are clever. the guy who made this is an idiot. Freedom of speech... he should have stopped yes, but dont taze him.
How bout the cops come and taze the maker of this video??? i would have asked HIM to stop. what a retard.
oh and Endtheism...you are what can only be called CRAP FOR BRAINS. this is EXACTLY what our founding fatehrs had in mind. Read a book
The video you see, the most popular one on youtube, WAS TAKEN WITH TASERBOY'S OWN CAMERA.
Let me repeat that again, taserboy asked a friend to take his camera and shoot the incident. taserboy was a joker, he had a blog where he posted pranks and the like. He was acting up on purpose.
I think this whole thing would be less of an issue of 95% of Americans didn't obtain the sum of their legal knowledge from watching Law & Order reruns. The same country where 1/5 of its population can't find themselves on a map suddenly thinks they have an in-depth knowledge of the constitution and the law.
I think a lot of the anti bush/war/authority anguish is spilling over into this issue. People are not able to look into this objectively. Combine that with a pure ignorance of what the law actual is and you have frenzy. Suddenly everyone on YouTube thinks they are a lawyer, parroting phrases like 'assault and battery' and 'fascist pigs' . Righteous indignation combined with ignorance is a pathetic sight.
I think its so funny that so many people are crying the mantra of 'the death of freedom of speach'. Like the this asshat student shitting up a public academic venue is what framers of the Bill of Rights had in mind when they were drafting up the first ammendemnt. The right to free speach is not the right disrupt the peaceful assembly of others.
ABSOLUTLY!!! Lack of COMMON SENSE!!! Grow up morons!!! This IDIOT was just looking for publicity and YOU IDIOTS are giving it to him. I doubt he cares who won the election. Wake the hell up!
Oh, so you admit how people get fined and jailed in your country for believing a certain thing. And instead of being ashamed of this you seem to revel in it.
Don´t be frivolous! In germany people can get fined for anti-democratic behaviour. That´s everything affiliated with radical fascism and communism, because both aim to replace democracy with a totalitarian state where despite today the leaders inherit legislative, jurisdictive and executive powers which would allow them to do at their will, which is not possible at present. And a state authority treating a student like that is abusing it´s power in a criminal way which is unaceptable by the law.
What I mean by america becoming a fascist, theocratic state: I looks as if the first country with a totally secular an democratic constitution is heading towards what we´ve gladly overcome, the suspension of civil rights by willfare state authority. That´s what alarms many europeans through reflection of our history. Do you wish to enable such a society or do you wish preserve and strengthen what your ancestors and founding-fathers tried to establish in the bill of rights and the constitution?
Is the reaction of the security adequate to the offence? Is it an appropriate reaction an annoying student to treat him with high voltage? Any reaction by a state authority must have a reasonable amount of punishment compared to the committed crime. What´s next: Beeing beaten up by a policman for wrong parking? Beeing shot for stealing apples? Beeing put to the electric chair for littering? I hope I could make my point clear enough.
flopoeko, the tasing was NOT punishment. It's non-lethal means of forcing compliance on a combative subject. He was CLEARLY resisting. He was CLEARLY given REPEATED orders to stop resisting which he ignored even AFTER being told he'd be tased if he didn't stop. It was 100% his choice. Stop resising & be cuffed or continue resisting & be tased THEN cuffed. The tasing wasn't punishment. They didn't tase him then say, "Ok, I think you've learned your lesson, you can go now." He was being arrested.
If i get that right you are accepting beeing painfully electro-shocked as some sort of acceptable action against a disturbing nerd? In german law we have a passus ("Angemessenheit") that the way of acting against a violator of a law must be within a certain boundary concerning e.g. the amount of officers available (at least 4 in this case!) and the offence (Disturbing a speach!). This video only shows the impotence of the insuff. trained sec.-personnel to get simple work done in a prof. manner.
flopoeko, they DID follow their training & DID do so in a professional manner. They gave him REPEATED chances to leave peacefully & REPEATED warnings that if he didn't stop resisting he'd be tased. He was UNDER ARREST. He does NOT get to dictate how he leaves &, seeing as he CHOSE to violently resist, there was no way in hell he was leaving without being in cuffs. Your not liking it & it being wrong, illegal, immoral or anything else you want to call it are NOT that same thing.
I don´t know how somebody can have arguments for a practice that got labeled by the UN Council for Human Rights as "Torture", and again i tell you that this is not only judicially unacceptable but totally out of measure for anyone with an trace of common sense left, though i rest my case in the hope that you one day will get the victim of unmeasured action by an authority that abuses it´s official power to get an idea what "civil rights" are for. These are practices of a police state...
"UN Council for Human Rights" an oxymoron if ever I heard of it. Don't listen to immoral institutions for any ideas on morality.
If you want cops to not taser then they're going to wack or shoot a lot more people.
You're affinity with the criminal and distaste of any force to suppress bad is quite heart-warming. Read about some of the atrocious murders that happen and then reconsider that idea.
...an authority that abuses it´s official power..."
There was NO "abuse" of "power" in ANY way. Your not liking something or agreeing with it does NOT make it wrong or illegal in ANY way. "...this is not only judicially unacceptable.." BULLSHIT. I don't give a flying fuck what YOUR country thinks or does. It is NOT illegal here & has saved countless lives & lasting or perminant injuries from using other means of forcing compliance on a combat, resistant offender.
In Germany, these security guy´s would get fined in court till their asses bleed. This behaviour is nothing else but sign of a further developement towards some fascist society. And guy´s, your pro comments are also nothing but fascistic. Europe has seen regimes like that, and it always started this way. Congratulations and welcome to the Club.
With this video post you justify physical violence against free speech: an open road to totalitarianism. Yes, this young man was a bit over excited and didn't follow the rules. Is he a criminal for that ? Ruthless country is yours with such an ideology...
Correct. Without probable cause, it was ASSAULT AND BATTERY to lay just ONE finger on him. And that's BEFORE they manhandled him, drew guns on him, embarassed him, and tasered him.
May I remind people on the "we're losing free speech - arrgh!" side that we start this video at the good stuff. There was a lot you didn't see - including the runner up statements where he abuses his position.
I haven't heard you address the rights of the other students "right to free speech". Should all 20 some students waiting to speak charge the mics and shout? It would have sounded like: "a;'sfjqew[or igfjqewoi". That would have been productive. The ACLU is just another agenda driven organization. As I said I'm an originalist, if the government went back to national defense and interstate commerce we wouldn't even worry about this. You probably think they have microphones under your bed.
I think this shows the true light of how bad the political structure of this country has become. We have no say, we have no rights and even with the cameras on we apparently are told we are still wrong. In the constitution a wrongful arrest is treated as being attacked in which an innocent citizen can ATTACK AND KILL. I didn't see him attack, smother or tazer back at the pigs. And to everyone who clapped, laughed or defending the cops, the only funny thing is throwing out your rights.
The problem is everyone wants the federal government to do everything. You have control of your local government at least in some degree, but they want the feds to do everything. Less government in the answer. If power corrupts why give more power to the federal government? It's really not even a dem/rep thing, it's power. Your life isn't and shouldn't be that controlled by politicians.
Correct Josh! We must defent our Right to Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Press or face loosing ALL Civil Liberties! I would urge you visit ACLU (dot) ORG The "Police America Act" and Domestic Surveillance. Also, take a look at the new video from the ACLU in the section; Unabridged: New Video About Surveillance by Steve & Sekou. It WILL Open Your Eyes!
"The Chinese government has developed some of the most sophisticated forms of internet censorship in order to control or eliminate access to information on sensitive topics such as the Tiananmen Square protests of 1989, Falun Gong, Tibet, Taiwan, pornography or democracy. They have also enlisted the help of some American companies like Microsoft, who have subsequently been criticized by proponents of freedom of speech."
"The most stringent protection of free speech would not protect a man falsely shouting fire in a theater and causing a panic. [...] The question in every case is whether the words used are used in such circumstances and are of such a nature as to create a clear and present danger that they will bring about the substantive evils that Congress has a right to prevent." Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes Jr., 1919
This is not an issue of free speech so as many elegant prose that you can reproduct on that matter do not matter.
About free speech btw, you won't find a stronger propent of free speech than myself. As ny videos will hopefullt attest to. The young man in the video got tazed because he resisted the police. And he didn't have the right to get up there and babble for as long as he liked.
umm it was a little unessecary to tazer him. he maybe spent 3 minutes talking and the cops are dragging him away, not to mention they could have just hand-cuffed him and a believe they did, plus he never tried to attack them once. and he was tasered as he was on the ground. RESTRAINED!!
Your a complete moronic mongoloid.Deserving a tasering for asking a question you need to go see a psychiatrist and up your meds you waste of c02 emissions.
What you don't seem to understand is that he was not tased for asking a question, he was tased for being disorderly and resisting arrest. Have you read the police reports or other students first hand accounts? I'm sure not. You wouldn't want the facts to get in the way. Are you a bunch of anarchists or what?
Denny, once again, rather than reciting your anti-constitution reteric, I would suggest you visit ACLU (dot) ORG - Fact Sheet: The "Police America Act" and Domestic Surveillance. I'm done trying to talk with you. Good day sir.
I love how people who have never stood up for anything and never had to do with injustic, post shit and make a video about something they know jack shit about.
Fuck all of the FASCISTS who think this kid deserved to get tasered while pinned on the ground by a half dozen cops. So are SOOOO fucking impolite. Go to hell.
The events: Kerry speaks and takes "planned" questions from a UofF official for 45 min. He then takes 8 questions from students who have lined up behind mics and announces "last question". Meyer charges past more than a dozen students ahead of him to the mic ranting that his question should be answered.
Police approach him and ask him to leave, Kerry stops them and says he'll answer his question after he finishes with the current one. NOW IS WHEN THE VIDEOS START. That's why the police were there, the mic was cut when he becomes irrelevant and mentions blowjob. The police attempt to lead him out (not arrest), but he kicks them and is therefore put under arrest.
Denny, once again, rather than reciting your anti-constitution reteric, I would suggest you visit ACLU (dot) ORG - Fact Sheet: The "Police America Act" and Domestic Surveillance. I'm done trying to talk with you. Good day sir.
there was absolutely no reason for him to be "led away" by 3 cops... there is no reason that 6.. thats right SIX cops can not get one person under control without the use of a Taser. If you can't see that.. you're a fuckin idiot and I hope you get tased in the near future.
The kid swung at one of the cops on the video, so they tasered him, so what? And since when did tasering someone become so terrible? In Afghanistan they would have beheaded him.
how could he have swung at one of the cops and got tasered when he didnt get tasered until AFTER being handcuffed?? If you even want to compare Afghanistan to the US in any way.. I won't bother debating anything with you.
It's not very clear in this video, you need to look at other video of this event. He puts one of the officers in a headlock and swings at another, he is acting like a wild animal, and that is why he was handcuffed and tasered. They probably did this because they were worried he might headbutt one of them, kick someone, or otherwise injure one of the officers.
Let me get this right adamp360. Are you wishing pain and distress on people who disagree with you? You hope I get tased. Not for any reason, just tased. As long as I suffer. Idiots like yourself probably bang on about unusual punishment and force.
Tasering was invented as a harmless way to control out of control people, would you rather they broke his arm or beat him with a nightstick? He was acting like an out of control maniac.
wrong.. tasers were invented as an alternative to deadly force. would they have fired on this guy if not for a Taser?? like i said.. 6 cops struggling with one man.. they have no business in uniform.
If people want to get away bad enough, they can seriously hurt the people trying to control them. Or themselves. Tasering makes him submit, and without any permanent damage! What solution would be better?
without permanent damage?? tell that to the 300+ killed as a result of being Tased since police departments started using them. The point is he should not have needed to struggle or resist because there was no reason to be placing him under arrest.
Let us for a second accept that tasers would have been a wrong solution. What would you guys have done? Used a damn bat?
If you want trouble with authority, it's no problem at all. It's easy to achieve. Everyone who thinks that he did'nt deserve what he get, is falling victime to his manipulations. Congratulations. You are a sucker.
He clearly took a swing at one of the officers when he was trying to resist arrest, just because he put his arms up and acted all 'innocent' doesn't mean anything. It was a act, and the tape clearly shows his resisting arrest, lashing out and continually disregarding the police officers instructions to 'just stop resisting'. He did not, he got tazered. He fully deserved it. End of story.
Yea it's candy asses like you that are against free speech. So how come they held him on the floor befor they juiced him?? So you say that's ok! Maybe next time it will be you!!!
People seem to think he was being 'oppressed' or the police stepped out of their bounds, quite the contrary. He asked several questions and went on some conspiracy theory rant which took up his allotted time, he was asked to step down from the podium while John Kerry addressed his questions, he refused. A officer then attempted to escort him off the podium, while Mr. Kerry attempted to address his questions. Then the student freaked out, lashed out, and become violent.

welcome to the new world order, socialism at its finest. dare not to excersize your right to free speech, for that would be unpatriotic. after all our fore fathers fought for???

Argus is always on the side of the powers that be. He is an apologist who does not wish to see change. Conservatives bound to their abusers, its just their nature. ^ out of 10 pople will support a sociopathic leader without question, that is just the fact of human nature. 6 out of 10, quite scary. Argus wants us to all be civilized as they put us on the trains, don't worry he promises, you'll be able to speak your mind at the camp.
freespeeeech 4 years ago
If I am libertarian leaning and want smaller government then how does this tie in with "being put on trains"? The nazi party were the National Socialist German Workers Party. You need a socialist party to do stuff like that.
ArgusEyes 4 years ago
A fascist government is when corporations run the government. Libetarians are unintentional fascists because that is what liberatrian programs would do. The government is full of many instruments and when corp leaders rule, they fill the orchestra with terrible muscicians. When a great leader rules the symphony is sweet. Libertarians solution is to throw away the instruments rather than find talented people who can play.
freespeeeech 4 years ago

ArgusEyes 4 years ago
I have watched several vids that you have favorited and commented on and posted in the last few days, and you seem like a really cool person with alot of interesting ideas, but I think on this particular argument you need to do a little more research.
bluevanilla 4 years ago
What many fail to realize is the socialist worker party was right wing conservative. Also fascism puts a dictator in place by the monpolies that be. Business leaders thought hitler was great. His fascism was a corporate takeover of govt.

There is no such thing as a free mkt economy because agriculture, the basis of all civilization, can't surive in a free mkt. Overporduction leads to price collapse and farm failure. Its chronic, that is why all agriculture has been nationalized. There is no such thing as a competitive mkt either Price are now administered by oligolpolies who divide market share profitably between established players. So all mkts are controlled, subsidized, etc, whether by public or prvate entities.
freespeeeech 4 years ago
Plus the basis of all market activity, the supply of money is anything but a free mkt phenomenom. and lastly there are diffent types of capitalism. some forms concentrate property into a two class system of have and have-nots, while other forms of capitalism distribute property broadly enough to create a thriving middle class.
freespeeeech 4 years ago
A three class capitalism is called a meritocracy cause the middle class allows social mobility so talent can be rewarded. A 2 class capitalism solidifies into a caste system where positions a determined by birthright(resources and connections).
freespeeeech 4 years ago
That is why I am a progressive capitaist because I believe in private property, (everyone should have some), and competitive mkts more in the Louis brandeis theory of capitalism. And thus I support the creation of a meritocracy (growing middle class). Libertarian policiesare devastating to a middle class, because the MC is not a free mkt phenomenom. Otherwise history would be full of growing MCs.The MC is a conscious social construct.

Shame on anyone who says this is defensible.

rgwoolhouse 4 years ago
Then shame on me, Rob. The right of free speech does mean the right to deprive others, and the right to disrupt decorum. The forum was understood, and adhered to by everyone else except this jerk. Come to the mic & ask your question, go back to your set, allow the next. This jerk did not do that, but, continued on, and on - as if no rules of decorum existed, but his own. No one else has rights now but him, is waht some of you half wits are saying...
right4us 4 years ago
Free speech is more threated by this, than tasering a publicity seeking moron.
right4us 4 years ago
I'm not defending him being a jerk, disrupting a formal debate or monopolising the mic.
He of course should have acted more calmly when asked to leave.
What I am saying is that when he was pinned down by several large police officers using a taser on him was totally unnecessary and cruel.
I've seen posts on here that suggest that being a pain in the a** deserves that kind of treatment.
Sorry to be pain in the a** but I strongly disagree.

Harvest4 4 years ago
The point that the tasering itself was too much can be debated.
Personally I don't mind. It leaves behind much less damage than a club to the head. They did try to work with him for a long time before the tasering. If someone is going to struggle for that long then they are going to keep struggling. When you get to that point you need an incapacitating technology like a taser or pepper spray to stop them.
ArgusEyes 4 years ago
First of all, he didnt need to be escorted anywhere, he needed to be asked to stop FIRST. Then they tell him you are disturbing the crowd plz stop or something like that. THEN grab him and start tasering him, But THEY DID NOT, so anything after the cops grab him, is their fault. And they should just get fired. Despite getting fired means financial struggle, every action has a consequence. That is totally not true, if it is, then all of those cops should be fired.
FearRain 4 years ago
First of all, I think he was asked to stop his behaviour. He was heckled on his behaviour and asked to ask his questions. The crowd was so fed up with his actions that when he was led away they clapped. Says bucketloads.
Secondly. If he had not resisted, would he have been tased? The answer is no. As the lowest level of inference, we can deduct that his resistance to the police is the action that resulted in his tasing.
ArgusEyes 4 years ago
Saw what happened, the guy was acting like a dipshit.
Don't think he needed tasing, though. There were more than enough cops to cuff him.
I'm not sympathetic to him though. The Monty Python peasant was an excellent analogy, Argus.

Try disregarding security at any place and you will get the exact same treatment.
moxlotus62 4 years ago
mox lotus.... seriously man. He has the right to free speech as far as it does not stop others rights. he was not stopping them, he asked 3 questions. he had those questions to ask john kerry right then, so why should he wait? there was time and it was his turn. he was not breaking security. The problem is that and HOW he was forced to leave. If you go speak to long somewhere...anywhere...and you are forced down by being tazered, does that help freedom of speech???
bob92108 4 years ago
He was preventing others from speaking He already asked his questions It was time 4 some1 else to speak He wouldnt let any other questions to be asked because he was speaking despite being asked to stop. He was not tasered for speaking-but cuz not leaving after breaching the etiquette of the Q&A forum&after being asked to leave. was it cuz of his speech? No-it was because he broke the rules Go to any place break the rules refuse to leave quietly and you will get thrown out
moxlotus62 4 years ago
Exactly, like comments here. A guy below made a comment that he thought that my mother should be tased for me making this video.
He wont be around any more. Ever.
So did I violate his freedom of speech? Nope, he can go elsewhere and say that but when you comment here you are in my forums which operates on the unspoken rules of human decency. btw, if you can't meet that requirement then you are incapable of being a decent person.
ArgusEyes 4 years ago

Oh, and by the way: In Germany, Nazi´s get fined as well till their asses bleed. So, why not come for a visit? We have pretty nice jails here!
flopoeko 4 years ago
Oh, so you admit how people get fined and jailed in your country for believing a certain thing. And instead of being ashamed of this you seem to revel in it.
ArgusEyes 4 years ago
Don´t be frivolous! In germany people can get fined for anti-democratic behaviour. That´s everything affiliated with radical fascism and communism, because both aim to replace democracy with a totalitarian state where despite today the leaders inherit legislative, jurisdictive and executive powers which would allow them to do at their will, which is not possible at present. And a state authority treating a student like that is abusing it´s power in a criminal way which is unaceptable by the law.
flopoeko 3 years ago
What I mean by america becoming a fascist, theocratic state: I looks as if the first country with a totally secular an democratic constitution is heading towards what we´ve gladly overcome, the suspension of civil rights by willfare state authority. That´s what alarms many europeans through reflection of our history. Do you wish to enable such a society or do you wish preserve and strengthen what your ancestors and founding-fathers tried to establish in the bill of rights and the constitution?
flopoeko 3 years ago
Is the reaction of the security adequate to the offence? Is it an appropriate reaction an annoying student to treat him with high voltage? Any reaction by a state authority must have a reasonable amount of punishment compared to the committed crime. What´s next: Beeing beaten up by a policman for wrong parking? Beeing shot for stealing apples? Beeing put to the electric chair for littering? I hope I could make my point clear enough.
flopoeko 3 years ago
flopoeko, the tasing was NOT punishment. They didn't tase him then say, "Ok, I think you've learned your lesson, you can go now." He was being arrested.
redrumrob 3 years ago
If i get that right you are accepting beeing painfully electro-shocked as some sort of acceptable action against a disturbing nerd? In german law we have a passus ("Angemessenheit") that the way of acting against a violator of a law must be within a certain boundary concerning e.g. the amount of officers available (at least 4 in this case!) and the offence (Disturbing a speach!). This video only shows the impotence of the insuff. trained sec.-personnel to get simple work done in a prof. manner.
flopoeko 3 years ago
flopoeko, they DID follow their training & DID do so in a professional manner. Your not liking it & it being wrong, illegal, immoral or anything else you want to call it are NOT that same thing.
redrumrob 3 years ago
I don´t know how somebody can have arguments for a practice that got labeled by the UN Council for Human Rights as "Torture", and again i tell you that this is not only judicially unacceptable but totally out of measure for anyone with an trace of common sense left, though i rest my case in the hope that you one day will get the victim of unmeasured action by an authority that abuses it´s official power to get an idea what "civil rights" are for. These are practices of a police state...
flopoeko 3 years ago

Your a complete moronic mongoloid.Deserving a tasering for asking a question you need to go see a psychiatrist and up your meds you waste of c02 emissions.
IdunCareLesSn00b 4 years ago
What you don't seem to understand is that he was not tased for asking a question, he was tased for being disorderly and resisting arrest. Have you read the police reports or other students first hand accounts? I'm sure not. You wouldn't want the facts to get in the way. Are you a bunch of anarchists or what?

To IdunCareLesSn00b, and you're boring.

TheUniverse101 4 years ago
I want you to look at my other videos and then come back on here and repeat the claim that "I have never stood up for anything".
ArgusEyes 4 years ago
Cat got your tongue? I love it when people are unquestionably, absolutely shown to be talking shit.
ArgusEyes 4 years ago
Still no answer I see..
Wanted to talk crap just like taserboy. Unfortunately, unlike he, you're not hanging around so I can hand your ass to you on a platter.

thank you for posting this video. I agree the little snot deserved the taser...deserved more than they gave him actually

Fuck all of the FASCISTS who think this kid deserved to get tasered while pinned on the ground by a half dozen cops. So are SOOOO fucking impolite. Go to hell.

Ironically. That's an incredibly inpolite thing to say.

The events: Kerry speaks and takes "planned" questions from a UofF official for 45 min. He then takes 8 questions from students who have lined up behind mics and announces "last question". Meyer charges past more than a dozen students ahead of him to the mic ranting that his question should be answered.
DennyInDayton 4 years ago
Police approach him and ask him to leave, Kerry stops them and says he'll answer his question after he finishes with the current one. NOW IS WHEN THE VIDEOS START. That's why the police were there, the mic was cut when he becomes irrelevant and mentions blowjob. The police attempt to lead him out (not arrest), but he kicks them and is therefore put under arrest.

I agree with you that people aren't seeing the full event. Also is "Blowjob" protected as free speech? Or does it fall under "obscene"?
Hint: It's the second option.
kiasnikov 4 years ago
there was absolutely no reason for him to be "led away" by 3 cops... there is no reason that 6.. thats right SIX cops can not get one person under control without the use of a Taser. If you can't see that.. you're a fuckin idiot and I hope you get tased in the near future.
adamp360 4 years ago
The kid swung at one of the cops on the video, so they tasered him, so what? And since when did tasering someone become so terrible? In Afghanistan they would have beheaded him.
adaalman 4 years ago
how could he have swung at one of the cops and got tasered when he didnt get tasered until AFTER being handcuffed?? If you even want to compare Afghanistan to the US in any way.. I won't bother debating anything with you.
adamp360 4 years ago
It's not very clear in this video, you need to look at other video of this event. He puts one of the officers in a headlock and swings at another, he is acting like a wild animal, and that is why he was handcuffed and tasered. They probably did this because they were worried he might headbutt one of them, kick someone, or otherwise injure one of the officers.
adaalman 4 years ago
Let me get this right adamp360. Are you wishing pain and distress on people who disagree with you? You hope I get tased. Not for any reason, just tased. As long as I suffer. Idiots like yourself probably bang on about unusual punishment and force.
ArgusEyes 4 years ago
I wish pain and suffering on stupid ignorant people... so to answer your question. yes, i hope you get tased
adamp360 4 years ago
Tasering was invented as a harmless way to control out of control people, would you rather they broke his arm or beat him with a nightstick? He was acting like an out of control maniac.
adaalman 4 years ago
wrong.. tasers were invented as an alternative to deadly force. would they have fired on this guy if not for a Taser?? like i said.. 6 cops struggling with one man.. they have no business in uniform.
adamp360 4 years ago
If people want to get away bad enough, they can seriously hurt the people trying to control them. Or themselves. Tasering makes him submit, and without any permanent damage! What solution would be better?
dalsgaard12 4 years ago
without permanent damage?? tell that to the 300+ killed as a result of being Tased since police departments started using them. The point is he should not have needed to struggle or resist because there was no reason to be placing him under arrest.
adamp360 4 years ago
Let us for a second accept that tasers would have been a wrong solution. What would you guys have done? Used a damn bat?
If you want trouble with authority, it's no problem at all. It's easy to achieve. Everyone who thinks that he did'nt deserve what he get, is falling victime to his manipulations. Congratulations. You are a sucker.

Wow... great way to demonstrate how your own point goes against you...

Nah, I have manners.
No one is tased when they just ask a question
"Excuse me, I was wondering what you stance is on..."
ZZZAP!
Get real.
