  • The greatest moment in your life is when you realize the actors of your favorite show fangirl just as bad as you do.

  • I agree that Doctor Who is it's own genre. I mean it has it's own genre of music so it makes sense.

  • That's right John, Doctor Who is it's own genre. Dang Straight!

  • It's nice to know they're fanboys just like the rest of us.

  • I'd shoot myself in the face if I found out that I would look like a giant face with tentacles in a big jar of water for billions of years.

  • @RobertVanHelsing Yea but if you were Jack it wouldn't do any good, lol. It would just hurt like hell.

  • @loveGG3 oh my god, if i was jack i'd be gay, too...

  • @RobertVanHelsing but well, being jack, he would just come back from the deads again.

  • @lokithata True, true... Although, if Jack Harkness is the face of Boe, why does Boe have a british accent?

  • @RobertVanHelsing It could've easily changed as time passed. Your accent changes when you live in area with than yours for a prolonged time. In addition to this he talked through telepathy, and we can not be sure on how it actually works.

  • Barrowman* EEEP A SPELLING MISTAKE!!!!! I'm sorry!!!

  • The next time one of my friends is all like "HAVE YOU *insert the thing they want me to do here* HAVE YOU *insert the above insert here* I'll be all like "no *insert their name here* I haven't I'll do it later. Or I'll be all like "I *did what ever they wanted me to* I *did what ever they wanted*" reeeeeaaallly loudly and then I'll start to bounc up and down XD maybe then they'll be all like "BOWERMAN!!!!" *shake fist* grrr

  • @doctorkandosii YES! They could just have him flying past the TARDIS' open doors! And the space core!

  • @MrNakedtittys Well, I'd love to see Wheatley pop up in Torchwood.

  • I just think that living billions of years/lives.. wouldn't you just become wisdom, knowledge etc..a face? why would you kneed a body?

  • Brilliant!!! U can just see this interaction between David and John lol!!! As The Doctor and Captain Jack they are really overgrown kids. Love it!!!

  • oooohhhhh.....he's not dead, is he. When the Doctor left i guess The Face of Boe just came back to life.

  • aaaarrrgghgh!!! i want to have jack still be hot 5 billion years from now. or at least more attractive than the face of boe.

  • yes but Jack CANNOT die. He is incapable and he is the face of boe....but boe died!

  • @OrcaReef However Jack could still age, he said so when it was revealed. It could be that he simply died of old age.

  • @OrcaReef Maybe Jack finally figured out how to end his life. After living for billions of years you are going to be pretty justly suicidal.

  • @swimteamizzle1114 He gave up his life force to power up the city of New New York, he probably figured how to over time, since he lived for a million years. Reason why he would sacrifice himself to save New New York, is because he was the protector of Earth, he was doing his duty. Maybe he doesn't have immortality, maybe the Time Vortex stored a massive amount of life energy into Jack and when he was the Face of Boe, the life energy was running out, it can't last forever.

  • @TommieDuhWeirdo Yup. Face of Boe DID say "Everything has it's time". OORRRR I like to think that The Doctor left early and that The Face of Boe regenerated after The Doctor left.

  • @TommieDuhWeirdo so why would the doctor say that it lasts forever? and if he had so much energy left, why did he look like a giant face, and not jack? where did his regeneration powers go all of a sudden? i always kinda thought they put that in ("they used to call me the Face of Boe") as an afterthought, or a filler or something. i don't think they actually thought it through.

  • @dotchoo 1. He said he would live forever, but he has been wrong before.

    2. Mutation after millions of years.

    3. His "Regeneration powers" went into restoring the whole New New York City.

  • @TommieDuhWeirdo hmm seems kinda gimmicky, wouldn't a mutation of any kind be seen as an injury and repaired immediately? mutation in an adult only happens on cellular level anyway, that's how you get cancer.

anyway, he said he had a visceral reaction to jack, that's why he had to get away and leave him on that ship, well, The Doctor has also got huge energy storages inside him, hence the regeneration thing, so I think he'd recognize it as a limited amount of energy if it really was that way.

  • @dotchoo Well, maybe it doesnt apply to aging. I mean, this is Doctor Who, crazy unexplainable plot holes are kind of a thing.

  • @epicmonkey96 nvm that, THE NEW EPISODE eeep

  • @swimteamizzle1114 Bear in mind also that Jack states at one point that he still ages, though presumably it's extremely slowly. Perhaps if we all lived millions of years we too would end up as giant heads. Or small ones a la Futurama. Perhaps that's what happened to Jack and it spiralled out from there!

  • Thing i dont get is...if the face of boe died then jack will die....but he cant! so....

  • @OrcaReef No because jack/face of boe lives in a straight time-line, if jack died the FoB would die, but since FoB is the future of jack, the past doesn't change.

  • @OrcaReef Well, since Captain Jack's body still ages, it could be that his body just died but his soul lived on. That's the best answer I can come up with.

  • "Excuse me, I was going to swear." He's such a doll.

  • In one of the dr who books, jack says he knows the face of boe. And in one of the episodes, the face of boe has kids.

  • @SuperSamio64 : no it's just a rumor in the news

  • Just because Jack doesn't stay dead doesn't mean things can't be done to him - just that eventually he will revert back to being alive and his original form (CoE). Any number of things could have occurred to him to cause him to live as a giant head in a glass jar - and because he didn't die, the universe didn't press the "restart button". I'll bet you dollars to donuts that if the Doctor had hung around on New Earth, he would have seen the Face of Boe come back to life and reform as Jack.

  • @StarWarsomania How many dollars? :)

  • I love the image of him running to David's trailer and yelling. I knew David was a geek about his role, but finding out that John is too pretty much doubles his status in my eyes(and I liked him quite a bit before, too). <3

  • Or, given the fact that Jack still gets older (as he states in "Last of the Timelords", the fact that he lives for BILLIONS of years could make him famous.

He was known as the Face of Boe when he was younger as he came from the Boeshine Peninsula. He might have gone back to that name in another couple hundred thousand years.

  • "DAVID I READ IT! I READ IT!"

    XD

  • time won't let anything else touch him. he is hers till his time runs out. in the end he STILL had a sexy kittenlady all about him. That is Game.

  • He is a fixed point of time. I think he is some what like the doctor. I think his body can decay. (hence grey hair in the latest torchwood). then he may regenerate like the doctor or he may 'reincarnate' into other species. hence becoming the face of boe. and his boe body dies, and then he becomes someone else and another species. but his body may last longer hence why he lived for hundreds of years as human, and why ppl think the bo is millions o year old. Boe kind longer lifespan naturally.

  • I don't believe that he regenerated to become the Face of Boe. If you recall in one episode when Jack and The Doctor are speaking he goes over the many ways he's died. The Doctor bring up decapitation and Jack says that hasn't happened yet and wonders how that would work if he can't die. I believe that's how he becomes the Face of Boe since Boe is nothing but a head.

  • It figures, but it doesn't make sense as to how he gains massive size, and those offshoots from the back of his head.

  • Evolution? He is many many years old.

  • "Evolution" cannot occur in a single generation, except mutation caused by radiation for example.

  • yes but there is o proof that jack can not age he probably got to be 160 and and they surgically turned him into the face of boe

  • there was one episode when doctor and martha with capt. jack said that he found a white hair in his head. though it was only one.

  • He's already about 160. He was in his 30s when he first met the Doctor, and then transported himself back into the late 1800s and and lived through on the slow path since he burned out his vortex manipulator.

    160 000 maybe? :)

  • Billions of years of slow aging will do that to a guy.

  • Thats an interesting point!

  • i didnt think it was residual energy. i thought she took him out of the time line. he does not exist in time. hence why the tardis and the doctor think he is wrong. but we dont knw how he becomes the face of boe. maybe over time he 'evolves' moves from form to form, and it was the end of his time as boe. idk. but good twist tho. new season of torchwood, looks amazing!

  • Rose didn't remove him from time -- she imbued him with temporal energy and re-wrote the universe's "underlying program" to accept Jack as a facet of the universe, itself, or a "fact", as the Doctor puts it. (A "fact" in the sense of being a universal constant, much like gravity, or E=mc2, et al...). And remember: Jack's temporal existence is far from linear -- the Face of Boe from 5 billion years from now could, in fact, be *trillions* of years along Jack's personal timeline... think about it.

  • That might sound clever to you, but it doesn't to me. It's just words.

  • well most of the doctor's universe is based around these 'words and rules' so if you cannot grasp something as constant as that, you really couldn't watch doctor who

  • I understand all the above words and phrases. But this person is complicating a subject by using them. Like the word 'imbued', the definition of this word doesn't make sense in the above statement. And I could never stop watching Doctor Who.

  • WhoniverseMaster: Uh, Okay... in what way is my use of the word "imbued" confusing, or not appropriate? Rose used the power of the TimeVortex (i.e. Reality itself, as we know it) to change/imbue Jack with temporal energy, which is why he can reform, whole and complete, from being blown apart (something even Timelords would find daunting). I would think with a name like "WhoniverseMaster", what I said would not be that strange or weird to you. It makes perfect sense with the ideas presented.

  • @WhoniverseMaster

It makes perfect sense to me...

Rose rewrote the laws of the universe to accept Jack as a consant fact, like gravity. And since Jack is from the future and can time travel, his temporal timeline is non-linear - so Face of Boe billions of years in our future might be trillions of years alongs Jack's timeline...

  • he can time hop

  • But the face of boe dies! how. makes no sense.

  • I suppose the residual energy that Rose gave him ran out in the end... There's only so much life a person can have.

  • 'Everything has it's time and everything dies.'

  • he can't be killed

but he can die of old age

thats why it makes sense that he can't die but he ages

  • what when is tosh in a jump sute

  • In 'Fragments' Tosh is arrested by UNIT for working with terrorist who kidnapped her mother.

  • DAVID I READ IT!

Hahaha, I can just imagine that, so hilarious.

  • Well, Tosh is just a nickname, her name is really Toshiko.

  • Yeah, that's her. The actress' name is Naoko Mori, and her character is Toshiko :)

  • Oh, okay.

    Cool.

  • Just gotta love it :D

  • YES that was my exact reaction too!!!

  • OMG so funny those two !!!^^

  • oh that's so funny!!!!
