GM never put 454 engines in any medium duty trucks or buses. The 350 & the 366 engines were both options and yes both the 350 and 366 have been optional engines up into the 2000 years. GM did not start putting diesels in thier school buses until the 80's and had put the useless Detriot 8.2l fuel pincher in them. We had a 1968 Chevy School bus at the bus company I worked for back in the day and it was a V-6 and not a straight 6.
that engine came out in 1970, so it wouldn't have that unless someone put it in later. The newer Chevy buses had 366 big blocks, and some were diesels...but I don't think this bus would have a diesel...it might even be a gas straight 6, who knows
