Once friend give me his computer that still has xp windows to fix some stuf install few programs....and I find myself draging windows to the side and top and I was like ah shit I keep forgeting this wont work with XP windows :)))

For proper operating with touchscreen you do not put it as normal monitor on the desk - it has to be lower and you should be able to look down. Guy on the video is miniature in comparison to this monitor. I bet he has neck pain all the time :)
Hey that's cool! I did not know that you could double click the title bar. Also, did you know that if you put the cursor in the spot were it can resize the window, and drag the window to the top it will resize the window so it fills up the screen length wise, but not resize it width wise. Cool video Chris.
One problem with the half screen window thing is that it doesn't work on dual screen... Well it does but only on the far side of each screen (not the two touching sides) which is annoying.
Well, I just think having kids around the house and sometimes adults that never wash their hands , I can only imagine how the screen will look in a couple of years LOL .. I'll just stick to my out of date mouse, at least I know the screen will not get smudged with fingerprints and smears .
Also that, but on big screens, well, starting from 15inch actually, using drag and drop is more difficult than moving your mose, and also less precise. Don't know why this dude wants to use it on a 35 inch screen, just imagine doing that all day ...

The art is how Windows allows you to have everything on 1 desktop easily and manageable. I find it annoying and confusing having to use multiple screens on Linux.

running the rc1 of 7 I can say its "better" then vista as soon as I got vista i put xp back on my machine. I still think they wrecked the file structure in many ways.
I still like the xp layout much easier to navigate, but I surpose I cant live in the past I will have to follow microsofts horrid improvement? not thats its all bad i do like a lot of the things you can do and how stable it is, just not the layout.

what exactly do you mean? you can still drag windows off the screen. the snap feature only works when you drag it completely off the screen, but you can move it a centimeter back in and it will remain there almost entirely off the screen. if this still isn't enough room, i recommend deskspace 3D for multiple desktops. with that running, you can literally drag your windows off-screen, and onto a different screen!
it only pulls your window to half screen when the mouse hits the side, so you can still drag your windows off the screen as long as u dont hit the mouse on the side.
Why don't they just update Windows XP instead of alway coming out with all these new Operating Systems? From what I understand XP is the most stable and reliable.
There is no way I would "upgrade" (downgrade??) to Vista... I'm not sure all the programs I have installed on my computer would run smoothly with.

Thank you - once again OS X lags behind Windows in not only this touch screen functionality but also in the area of multi threading, and various other features that are new in Snow Leopard. It will only run on the new Intel Macs and is 64 bit only BTW - millions of Power PC users are seriously SOL. Windows 7 on the other hand runs great on older Pentium 4 systems and comes with a 32 bit version as well.

This is a great feature but Nvida has software that allows you to create a gird on ea monitor. This is AWESOME. wish i could post a picture, if you have multiple monitors and nvida cards this option is under nview properties, you can maximize to ea section of grid, its great

This is not innovation. It is fluff. I'm all for multiple methods and options, but c'mon now... It would have made more sense if we "always" had to drag our windows to the sides to maximize and then finally they figured out to add a button for one click!
Well, I don't know about the dragging. It might be useful for touchscreens. But I'm used to doubleclick the title bar to maximize a window, and I find it better than using the button simply because the area is way bigger, it's easier/faster to do.
But again, that's not the same as dragging.
As for the tiling windows, you can't do that today without a bit of effort.
i dunno what they call it and i forgot. and it's the strain and pain dude. am sure you experienced that too? i did and it was painful really. and my doctor told me to lower my monitor according to most suggested height. i dunno but, some people do get that pain...
just today, i tried and found some odd windows 7 beta functions that needs attention. GRAB a window, let's say "My Computer" then THROW it out of the screen and you'll end up in a PANIC or PISSED hehehe. and whenever you open it up, the minimized button is in the taskbar but the "My Computer" window is not there! what i did to restore was, mouse over the TASKBAR and right-clicked the mini opened window and selected MOVE while holding the SHIFT button and then ARROWS up, down, right, left. WEIRD.
oh, btw, for the windows 7 beta users checkout SPACES in mac too. see which is better. but i still prefer the mac's SPACES. awesome and it's quicker and ASSIGNABLE too ^_^

i got the beta of this windows 7 ultimate and it's really nice and it's faster and better than xp and vista. but get the updates to make sure everything works at this beta stage only ^_^ still many of it's features are somewhat copied from osx leopard? am not a mac fanboy, and i use 4 os's but, it seems that windows have a lot of features found in macs already years ahead. the graphics are really cool, but the appz and features as well as ease of use is what i'm after. anyone?
Why do people always make those open-ended statements about copying this and that without anything to back it up? Give some examples - name the features. The functionality of the new task bar for instance eliminates the need for expose, and spaces. Dashboard on the other hand is completely useless. ^_^

What the fuck is with touch screens these days...all they do is make the screen dirty. Same with touch screen iphones etc. This whole video is redudant; the time difference between, for example, double clicking the top of the bar(the old way) and dragging the window to the top of the screen (the new way) is negligible. windows 7 is better than vista so far from what I've tested (with a mouse and keyboard) I don't want to get my grubby hands on a nice screen. Download the beta before its too late.
Right click on your taskbar and click Show Windows Side by Side. And then Undo Side by Side. This is an old feature made perhaps slightly more comfortable. What's the hype?
People just don't know how the power of Windows...
The Tile Windows option on the WinXP Taskbar doesn't work that well. It'll tile every window you have open that's not minimized.
And you only have one Undo Tile, so if you tile horizontally then vertically, you can go back to horizontal, not to the previous positions and dimensions.
Fuck me mate, use a mouse like the rest of us instead of the fucking touch screen so we can feel more attuned to what is being shown the video and how about removing your boof head from taking full precedence in the video and face the camera directly at the screen! .. it would give the video more purpose as per its intent and is a hell of a lot more practical.

Can someone explain to me why they would:
1) CLICK 2) HOLD 3) DRAG 4)RELEASE
to maximize the screen instead of just
1.) CLICK MAXIMIZE
and be done with it?
This is not innovation. It is fluff. I'm all for multiple methods and options, but c'mon now... It would have made more sense if we "always" had to drag our windows to the sides to maximize and then finally they figured out to add a button for one click!

Well, I don't know about the dragging. It might be useful for touchscreens. But I'm used to doubleclick the title bar to maximize a window, and I find it better than using the button simply because the area is way bigger, it's easier/faster to do.
But again, that's not the same as dragging.
As for the tiling windows, you can't do that today without a bit of effort.

i dunno what they call it and i forgot. and it's the strain and pain dude. am sure you experienced that too? i did and it was painful really. and my doctor told me to lower my monitor according to most suggested height. i dunno but, some people do get that pain...

just today, i tried and found some odd windows 7 beta functions that needs attention. GRAB a window, let's say "My Computer" then THROW it out of the screen and you'll end up in a PANIC or PISSED hehehe. and whenever you open it up, the minimized button is in the taskbar but the "My Computer" window is not there! what i did to restore was, mouse over the TASKBAR and right-clicked the mini opened window and selected MOVE while holding the SHIFT button and then ARROWS up, down, right, left. WEIRD.

oh, btw, for the windows 7 beta users checkout SPACES in mac too. see which is better. but i still prefer the mac's SPACES. awesome and it's quicker and ASSIGNABLE too ^_^

i got the beta of this windows 7 ultimate and it's really nice and it's faster and better than xp and vista. but get the updates to make sure everything works at this beta stage only ^_^ still many of it's features are somewhat copied from osx leopard? am not a mac fanboy, and i use 4 os's but, it seems that windows have a lot of features found in macs already years ahead. the graphics are really cool, but the appz and features as well as ease of use is what i'm after. anyone?

Why do people always make those open-ended statements about copying this and that without anything to back it up? Give some examples - name the features. The functionality of the new task bar for instance eliminates the need for expose, and spaces. Dashboard on the other hand is completely useless. ^_^

Going to Touch is like using a trackpad except BIGGER lol because i used to use mouse and now im always on a laptop it took my a while to get used to the trackpad thing but i finally did and now i much faster on a trackpad than i will ever be on a mouse because of just getting used to it changing to a touch screen will be the same once you get used to the right feel of a windows touchscreen or mac if you have it modified lol you will find it faster than it has ever been but if they try to

What the fuck is with touch screens these days...all they do is make the screen dirty. Same with touch screen iphones etc. This whole video is redudant; the time difference between, for example, double clicking the top of the bar(the old way) and dragging the window to the top of the screen (the new way) is negligible. I hope microsoft has spent time developing actual functionality and not just a few extra gimmicks like this.

sighhh... yeaaahh. That would be one service I would terminate faster than a cockroach. If you do this all the time you probably already have your own system, so you'd hate it anyways.

Right click on your taskbar and click Show Windows Side by Side. And then Undo Side by Side. This is an old feature made perhaps slightly more comfortable. What's the hype?

The Tile Windows option on the WinXP Taskbar doesn't work that well. It'll tile every window you have open that's not minimized.
And you only have one Undo Tile, so if you tile horizontally then vertically, you can go back to horizontal, not to the previous positions and dimensions.
