  • So much for 00 buck being a "safe" home defence weapon

  • @Jaahaah Yeah, no kidding. That's why we did this set of videos.

  • @Jaahaah Lol Its great for shooting the person thro the door

  • cool videos.gave me an idea to try some different rounds on stucco and cultured stone masonry exteriors. check em out

  • the police and military use buckshot to kill people if they use it to kill people why dont they just there version human shot or combat shot because buck shot means buck

  • @chingchong54 you're just looking they don't have an acronym for it! ;-)

  • @chingchong54 Originally Buckshot was used to hunt Deer, a buck being a male deer, but soon enough Law enforcement and the military determined that it would be quite effective against human targets, but it is still referred to as Buckshot

  • i got some bbb shot size. is that buckshot i think so but i cant remember. im not very smart so i forget alot

  • 0-ought buckshot ..yeah that will do it...

great for home defense in 12 gauge..... hell even 20 gauge

  • id like a doublebarrel 10 guage sawn off for that kind of job. keep the stock though hehe

  • @minnecolts Good luck holding on to it.

  • The only buckshot available in 20 gauge is #3 buckshot.

#3 buckshot in a standard 2 3/4 shell contains 20 buckshot pellets, each pellet being .25 caliber.

  • not bad penetration there. especially since the douche bag who broke in would in front of it first. = ) 00 is the best for home defense.

  • @HvyMetal4Ever I blew a hole through a 2inch plank with bird shot up close.

  • @whoopdeedoodee How close were you?

  • How far away is the shot being taken from. I can see shadow and smoke, but not the actual muzzel. What do you think? 3-5 yards or so?

  • Take a look at the wall setup video we did. Basically we shot through a "front" wall and into a "back" wall. They were 21 ft. and 31 ft. respectively (7 yds. from shooter to front wall plus 10' to back wall)

  • I would hate to be on the wrong side of that wall. 00buck is such a good choice of shot.

  • It certainly is ;-)

  • @Rane014 #1 buckshot is proven to create a 30% bigger zone of damage in soft tissue with penetration between 12-16 inches (so it's perfect for home defense). 00 buck is great too, just not quite as much damage.

  • @RRViper800TT True but more damage isnt always necessary. Just like in home defence, keeping in mind that you may or may not want your particular round to penetrate through whatever youre shooting at. But for your purpose of causing more damage #1 would be better ;)

  • @Rane014 Well, problem solved, no store or website I could find sells #1 buck..i guess i'll stick with 00 magnum (3 extra pellets)...unfortunately for us, any good gun is going to penetrate, it's what they do. I don't buy into the over-penetration argument because i know that drywall is quite weak

  • buckshot can put like 8 holes in you

  • u mean 9 hole on u cause most buck shot has

    9 piece of lead

  • they're not usually lead. most of the time they have to be steel because of humanity laws in case you miss. well thats the way they are here in michigan.

  • Actually Dustpan, the majority of buckshot here in California is all lead. Some is copper plated/nickel plated, but underneath it all is lead 95% of the time. I think Fiochi makes steel buck though. The only time steel shot is required is when bird hunting so the pellets don't poison the water sources. Lead has more mass than steel so it loses energy less quickly than steel. BUT steel does not deform like lead so it's penetration potential is greater at closer distance.

  • yeah. i meant bird shot wasnt usually lead. i know buck shot usually is. i've taken alotta shotgun shells apart in my day... lol

  • What size buckshot?

Also, what kind of material (drywall, particle board etc.) and is it the usual two layers?

  • 00 buckshot (it's in the title). We have one video that will answer part of your question: Search here for "indoor walls setup".

We don't have a backwall takedown video (but do for the front one, just search for it). The back wall was: 1 sheet of drywall, regular 2x4 studs (with the size, there was only 1 stud in the middle of the backwall) and 1 sheet of OSB on the "back" of the backwall. Hope that answers your questions, but let me know if it doesn't.

  • Stupid question....So what created more damage? The buckshot or the Slug?

  • It really depends on what you call damage. Area hit? more area is hit with buckshot (spread). Bigger hole? Slug wins.

  • you put "slug" instead of "buckshot" in the title and description.

  • Thanks! It's fixed now :-)

  • cool. great vids! :)
