  • @VaMoneyCow I didn't like it much either then I mixed a hopslam, west coast ipa and a union jack ipa in a mug and it was pretty damn tasty!

  • If you get a chance try Stoudt's Double IPA. It's a "maltier" IPA. Tastes really great as it warms up a little.

  • @djdevelope32 Ill have to find that one. Im only about an hour from Stoudts so it should be around here some where!

  • I love Bell's Hopslam! It's easily my favorite Double IPA.. along w/ Three Floyds Dreadnaught IPA.. if you've never tried it.. do yourself a favor.. it's on the same level as Hopslam, IMHO.

  • @BB13131313 Yeah this is a great beer. I reviewed the newest batch in Episode 146 so check it out if you get a chance and I also reviewed Dreadnaught in episode 2. One of my first reviews!

  • @BeerGeekNation Hey dude great reviews! I'll send you some Pliny, some Blind Pig, and some other crazy stuff from the area, if you send me some hopslam.

  • @Gellmore Beers you can find every day of the year I wouldn't consider to be crazy, Considering you can only find Hopslam once a year! I'd say 4 Pliny's for a six pack of Hopslam would be an honest trade.

  • imo, hopslam gets better after resting for a few months. i've been fortunate enough to have been able to purchase several 6 packs this season and am finally convinced its worth purchasing a case. surprisingly enough my local wf still has a decent enough supply to still sell it in that volume :-o !

  • I've bought 3 six-packs so far this year. Only thing that's keeping me from buying more is all the new beers that I haven't tried yet, and the fact that it's not easy to find even in Illinois where Bell's beers are all over the place (some places limit you to 1 six-pack). First time I had it this year I had 3 bottles in a row, knowing full well that with the 10% ABV, it probably wasn't a good idea. My tongue definitely took a beating but ah...so worth it. I would love to try Pliny though.

  • nice review, great view. I'd like to be sitting out in that field you're in .... smoking half a spliff, drinking a couple beers and chatting with a couple friends.

  • @Sovnarkom Thanks man glad you enjoyed it! Im actually going to be posting a new review for a fresh bottle tomorrow!

  • Hopslam is in!!! going to store tomorrow for my first try!!!!

  • @ChrisA351 My review for the fresh batch is going up tomorrow!

  • Yes, the 25th Anniversary Ale is available now. I'd like to be a reliable source for you guys out there as Bell's can be harder to find on the coast regions and smaller venues. Let's setup a plan of action and I'll gladly volunteer doing a little supplying for you guys. How do you recommend shipping just so we're on the same wavelength here? Glad to help out! Eric-

  • Great review Chris! Hey, I live right around the corner from Bell's Brewery in Kalamazoo, MI - if you guys would like fresh cases, let me know and I'll set you up asap this coming February. Drop me a line! Thanks, Eric-

  • @bobottobob Can you get their 25th Anniversary ale?

  • This was my first Imperial IPA, and my favorite still. I remember when I first had it, it was so good, I drank five of them, and started to get drunk....then I checked the ABV...ouch....the alcohol is masked very well.

  • @BrokenGalaxy HAHA yeah they sneak up on you. 5 of them and I would be on the floor hahaha! Cant wait for January for this one to come out again!

  • @BeerGeekNation No doubt, I can't wait for it either. The only place I can find it where I live is a grocery store and they actually post a sign on their front door announcing it...and sadly (for us consumers at least), it always sells out in no time.

  • I can see ti now, next year! Hop Slam mini keg vs bottle! Dont steal my Idea! but i know you are going to! lolz

  • i didn't realize this was 10% abv until the next morning after finishing a 6 of them....by then it was a little too late

  • @heathyd87 HAHAHA nice, I know exactly what you are saying!

  • Would you be willing to do a beer trade for one of these badboys if you still have any left? I'm in Seattle and have a pretty wide variety of beer here...

  • @DJA4E I would definitly trade one but keep in mind they are released in February, so they are not nearly as fresh tasting as they would be. With that said though I have 6 left and I had one the other day and it tastes fantastic. Ive kept them in the fridge for as long as I have had them. let me know

  • @BeerGeekNation Great, thanks for the quick response. Yeah, I realize they aren't as good as a fresh batch, but I've been trying to get my hands on this beer for a while. What kind of brew did you have in mind for a trade?

  • i wish i could get this out in cali

  • @zodiak3000 When it comes out again in Jan we can do a trade. I wish I could get a lot of beers that are out in Cali haha. SO i guess the grass is always greener :)

  • @BeerGeekNation Nice lookin out man! i"ll definetely keep that in mind around that time. i live close to the bay area so i got access to alot of good stuff. seen you already did a pliny review though, but name what you want when that time comes around and i"ll be sure to get it. i throw in some of my homebrew DIPA'S around that time too. cheers bro...

  • how available is hop slam? i'm in the chicagoland area... and its a once a year thing i'm guessing? thanks!

  • @Brionkendo Yeah it is released in January and is usually sold out by Late Feb. Thats why i stock up!

  • i liked this one a lot but it didnt knock my socks off completely. i thought it was an excellent ipa though. did you see my review of it? you shoulkd post this as a video response.

  • @Chad9976 This is still one of those beers every time I drink it just blows me away. I have never found a more fresh smelling beer with a taste to match it. Just my humble opinion though haha. And I posted this as a vid response

  • @BeerGeekNation have you drank the two hearted ale?

  • @moedogger21 Yeah I love that beer! One of my favorite IPA's. I have a review coming for it.

  • I couldnt agree with you more this a phenomenal beer!
