Hey. Wanted to update(commented 11 months ago when this video inspired me to try endurance-just keep coming back to it.Also my introduction to Nightwish) due to being inspired by this video I have been riding as a junior and have done well . I have also just been given the oportunity to ride for someone as her husband broke his ankle and is unable to compete-he was to ride at the American WEC trials and I may be able to try out instead.Thank You for this inspiring vide!
This has been one of my favorite Utube videos on Tevis ....and ironically, the video ends with John Crandell from Star Tannery, Virginia crossing the finish line on Heraldic! ...Who just happened to win the 2010 Tevis!!!!! How about that! It does give me goose bumps of excitement! And I liked the music so much I ordered the Nightwish album!
@witchhazelcat Yes, you're right, it is something ironical, he won this edition too!! ^_^ Thank you very much for your comment, I really appreciate it.
In 1996 I rode and finished the Tevis. It's the most challenging, inspiring and memorable experiences I have ever had. It's my wish to ride it one more time. Thanks for the video it brought tears of joy to my eyes.
If you have the heart/desire you can do this ride. It is NOT for the faint of heart. It is very do-able, but it is mentally and physically challenging on Both the horse and rider. You have to go into this with with the attitude that you WILL Finish. If not you wont get very far.
@ponytales2001 That's sooo true!!! And in fact, you must think that you and your horse are in your natural environment, and the world is there to challenge you, yes, but also to give you the chance of living a breathtaking adventure with no equals in the whole world.
I met some people riding that challenge in their 70s... Never too old for this kind of challenge!!! And anyway, there are some other fashionable rides with an easier trail, even if less famous... ^__^
grandios irgendwann wäre dies mein traum! :)
