The tonfas are just old (30 years old?) wood ones bought from AWMA back in the day. Paint almost worn out. Have had to re-screw the handles a couple of times.
Whew -- very nice. Well done with both. I like how you mix traditional moves with freestyle moves. it makes it hard for the critics to put you in an either or box.
Wow...U genius!! I havent heard of Tonfas before my trainer did some good practice with them and got interested. Its awesome o.o Honestly....I feel like Im watching som real life Anime xD
Very nice! You are a dedicated martial artist, you must have put in a lot of practice. I bet you have trained equally hard with all those weapons behind you?
Nice vid, dude! I've trained with the Sai for 6 years now, and I have a very different style, but I can recognize true skill, and can tell how much training you've put into it. You have my respect.
Tonfa and Sai appear to have a very similar style, at least in practical application. The way they are held, and the basic striking techniques appear to follow a very specific style, which I believe is formatted to fit with the basic unarmed striking techniques of martial arts.
For this reason, they are very intuitive weapons, which can be used to great effect by anyone with unarmed training.
I would have to say that they are tied for first place as my favourite self-defense equipment.
i luv tonfas. i've just started using them and im already very good with them. i suppose if u want to be as good as him its like anything. practice practice practice.
