@Truestorybro It's a preview of the skills only, which means it's a demonstration how the skills work and look, that's all. In each of this preview skill videos, ArenaNet using high level characters vs low level mobs, also they tweak the damage and other stuff of the skill, just to show how it's working. If you like to see real combat system, then search on youtube for Gamescom or PAX demo videos.

@yulp1979 GW2 will have a persistent world just like any other MMO, but it also has instances for personal story telling ( like missions in GW1 ). About World pvp, no, we won't have world PvP in PvE content ( maybe we get duels, but thats not counted as PvP ), BUT, we get World vs World vs World pvp content, which means you can battle with other servers on large battlefields and capture keeps, castles, and so on.

We get different arenas then GW1, and of course we get a huge battlefield called the Mists ( World vs World pvp, or Server vs Server pvp ). We get the same high quality balancing in GW2, which means, everyone will get the same skills, equipment, and you need to build your own builds, also we can't create max level pvp chars in GW2, but if you take your PvE char in a PvP zone, it will automatically level up to max lvl.
All they've said so far is "When it's done". Could be later this year, could be much, much longer. 2012 is a safe bet. They've talked about doing beta sometime this year, but no word on whether it'll be open beta, friends-and-family, or opt-in closed beta.

@Flarshmallow In GW2 there's no more secondary profession, because we can choose the race and we'll get unique race skills. So, instead of secondary profession you get race skills.

@Mystrym Don't worry, it's made by ArenaNet, it won't be like Aion or Age of Conan, etc. cuz GW1 had a huge success. The only problem will be, that it only will appeal to GW fans.... or maybe not.... will see. But either way, ArenaNet will make huge profits from it, because of GW1 huge community.

@1337Ziege It's not. They give a trailer explaining how they're sick of us grinding all the time as well. So pretty much everyone in the game is going to have a story line. When you do quests and save a village the villagers will remember you, etc. It sounds promising. You should check that video out.

@thirion1850 Yeah, can't remember where I saw it but players can combine their spells together. ie, mage lays down a wall of fire and rangers shoot through like in this video. it'll be cool to see what other combinations there are.

@pannari123 Yeah, the skills do look like that in actual gameplay from what I've seen in videos of some demos. And the "adventurer" types such as ranger class I believe is the type you're looking for with medium armor. There's two other adventurer types with medium armor though, but they have yet to be revealed.

true, i mean ranger's aren't suppose to be just bows and arrows... there's a reason they're called "rangers" because they fight in "range." they go from axe throwing, spear throw, heck...even rifle people in real life history were called rangers..
As much as I love both Warrior and Ranger profesions (I'm an Warrior/Ranger in GW1, collected all the 34 pets and lvl'd them to lvl 20 :D) I'm going to be a Warrior though. As I like being more of a Tank, and still get the ability to shoot with a bow (or Rifle :D). ill miss having pets though D:

@thirion1850 Yeah, can't remember where I saw it but players can combine their spells together. ie, mage lays down a wall of fire and rangers shoot through like in this video. it'll be cool to see what other combinations there are.

I think the birds in "Hunter's Call" are White Ravens. Because they peck out the eyes, and GW1 HoM Thing lets you unlock white ravens.

just out of curiosoty do the skill loke like that in actual gameplay since those were some sweet sweet moves :) olso what class would be about medium armored, close range fighter and could take some punishment before dying?

@pannari123 Yeah, the skills do look like that in actual gameplay from what I've seen in videos of some demos. And the "adventurer" types such as ranger class I believe is the type you're looking for with medium armor. There's two other adventurer types with medium armor though, but they have yet to be revealed.

true, i mean ranger's aren't suppose to be just bows and arrows... there's a reason they're called "rangers" because they fight in "range." they go from axe throwing, spear throw, heck...even rifle people in real life history were called rangers..

As much as I love both Warrior and Ranger profesions (I'm an Warrior/Ranger in GW1, collected all the 34 pets and lvl'd them to lvl 20 :D) I'm going to be a Warrior though. As I like being more of a Tank, and still get the ability to shoot with a bow (or Rifle :D). ill miss having pets though D:
