I use Optifine, it just makes Minecraft run like 500% better with no lag spikes. It gives you a ton more options to remove fog etc, also good for PCs that can push MC to its limits

i use both the equivalent exchange mod, and buildcraft. it allows me more options with building and mining using the darkmatter weapons and other cool things in the equivalent exchange mod, and i can use the buildcraft to automate a whole digging process for diamonds. witch i can make easier using the equivalent exchange mod.

AOTD: I play with OptiFine to remove fog so i can see full distance and see in water. Second mod is "Enderman Don't Pick Up Blocks" cause I don't like uncontrolled greifing. With creepers you just avoid them while Enderman destroy your world with out interacting with them or anything.
