Yea it's retarded. GOW needed a primary female character to give balance to the game, and for some retarded reason they made the Locust Queen as humanoid as possible. Not to mention giving her a British accent wasn't cliched enough. Certainly one of the biggest disappointments and cop-outs of the GOW trilogy. Halo had Cortana which was a pretty ingenious way to get a female in the game. GOW just borderlines on absurdity with the Queen. A huge disappointment. Just my opinon .

Myrrah is the daughter of one of the researchers from New Hope. The Sires from Gears 2 were miners infected with lambancy during the Gold Rush, the COG took them to New Hope look find a cure for lambancy but failed. The original locust were the children of these infected miners. Each child had lambat cells. The reserchers took the children too mount Kadar to continue their research. The locust and Myrrah were rasied together and she sees them as her family and her children.

When they chose who would be the voice actress for Queen Myrrah for the Locust, they couldn't have possibly chose anyone better than Carolyn Seymour for this. Her voice sounds exemplary for this role as it seems to fit in just right. The pitch, the tone, the accent. The voice alone gives off a aura of a strong, wise, commanding, confident, royal, and even a little sexiness O.o

Carolyn Seymour is well fitted for this role, along with her other many voice roles she plays in other video games.
