@taysaganitso Hello and thank you for careing. I just love life. I went through quite a change over the last 2 years and I have been very good at seeing things in a different manner. It really wasn't alcohol that consumed my life, it was the fact that I was living my life for other people instead of myself. Now that I have put myself first and set many boundries, I am being respected, getting along with myself and I am not afraid to tell people no. I have to admit that school boosts confidence!
thank you. i have made a fool of myself and it is really time to stop drinking. it takes me 7days to recover from alcohol now a days i think i have become chemically unbalanced and i am sad
im inspired! i had a rough night and now im youtubing alcohol abuse vlogs. im ready to give it up, im sick of all this crap, always being broke, and constantly making a fool out of myself. i dont know why i do it! two thumbs up
I'm the older person that you don't want to be. I've drank for 25 years and I am 38 .Today is the day I'm gonna quit drinking. I am daily drinker and I know it will be hard. You have a chance now to change your life, stay on it. Don't be like me. My Doctor told me yesterday that I have ulcers.
@TheErnestotorres1977 I have to say that you are insensitive and Rude. I was not drunk when I posted it! Maybe you were drunk when you responded. Thank you for your comment because it only makes me want to prove people like you wrong. Even though it is about proving to myself what I can do, I should not let one single person, like yourself, hurt me. You do not know me and I do not know you and I would be a good friend to you. Its a shame that you look down on others and it shows your character
My advice: Get away from bar tending. Work on your long term career. You are obviously very well-spoken and smart. Enroll in a college or university if you aren't already. Rearrange your life so that you are just too busy to drink. Also consider joining clubs, joining churches (depending on your beliefs), and keep going to the gym. Seriously, get in to college and get a degree. And look at Pell Grants if money is an issue.
@TheRealityJunkie Thank you! I am currently in college and starting my second year in Mental Health Technology. It is a very intense program. I will be a liscensed counselor in about one more year. I am working on becoming an LICDC, which is a liscensed chemical dependency counselor. I hope to hear from you again and thank you for the kind words and positive reinforcement.
I I realized I was an alcoholic a while ago, and decided to just accept it until recently. I don't want to drink anymore, looking at what I've done and how many times I've blacked out is pathetic.
we have a lot in common. im 26 been struggling with alcohol for 8 years. anything bad thats ever happened to me has been when i was drunk but i continue to drink thinking it will be fun and it never is anymore. this last binge made me realize i have a problem, no more denial. im going to AA
Thanks so much Tim! Loved hearing Nova calling for you throughout the video. I'm like you and think it's time to smash my wineglasses.......... I have a favourite so feel it would have an impact! All the best... Michelle
funny how this serious life altering sharing has only a few reactions and bullshit about the latest popstar has thousands. how blind are we ? mankind not so kind
I went to the docs 02/08/09 admitting to an alcohol problem of almost nine years (being 28 now). This was a hard thing to do and is so hard at the minute, but it can be done when you admit to yourself and everyone you love. Im a very successful person but realised i could lose all i have very fast as i was feeling my health diminish drinking 110 units + every week. Keep it up everyone and good luck. Tough times dont last but tough people do!!
@ bluegoose94, of course you can ask. Before i start I must say that I am not a doctor and only a doctor can prescribe what you need. I was put on a detox of chlordiazepoxide (librium) which was reduced each day to stop fits and help sleep and panic attacks etc. I was then put on Citalopram for depression and anxiety. The obsession took along time to get over and can still crave like crazy now, but keep going back to see psychiatrists and doctors. I'm a million times better now though.

speak to someone as soon as you can as i have anded up in hospital a few times. If I couldn't get alcohol I would take anything I could get my hands on. Be as honest as you can and if you know your life is totally unmanagable due to drink you do need help. Good luck bluegoose94
I apologize. I am so busy with school but Antibuse is a drug that seriously reacts negatively to the consumption of alcohol. If you have liver issues it may not be suitable for ingestation. However, it will keep you from drinking. Once alcohol is in your system you will become flushed, also violently ill and nauseous. If you are suffering from withdrawal then ask the DR, for librium or another Valium based prescriptions. Alcohol is a benzodiazipine, if abruptly stopped it can cause a seizure.
I don't know, I'm alot more charming when I drink and a bit more fun but I get what you mean by it causing weight gain... I'm at about 180 right now and I've been cutting back to drinking only twice a week instead of half the week lol.
I didn't drink as much as some people but craved the amount took. I tried to cut back and ended up in hospital and put on Chlordiazepoxide and was treated for depression afterwards. Count yourself lucky you can cut back and think it's great you can or really that you could before it took hold. Good luck
hi i came across your video searching for personal statements of struggles with alcoholism i did this so i could teach a bible study lesson to our youth who every weekend get drunk party and make complete idiots of themselves i just want to let you know that this is very insperational and is greatly appreciated...
Thank you for the kind words. I am curently traveling Europe for 6 weeks and would love to get in touch with ya and chat and yes my life is great now. Till then.
