why don't you learn a little bit of history. The reason southern Sudan succeeded and were backed by most countries is because they were been massacred by the Islamic north. Nigeria's boko haram on the other hand are killing christians to get what they want. Boko Haram DOES NOT want to split Nigeria, it wants to control it and convert everyone(read their manifesto), it wants the political system to be based under Sharia law, where women have no rights. @nem700 they are on a record stating that one of their goals is to create a sharia state. Many states in Northern Nigeria already have sharia as the rule of the law. There's no doubt in my mind that they have plans to spread this across the rest of the country. Other West Africans such as myself r paying very close attention 2 Boko Haram and any other militant Islamic movement with dominion aspirations in case they try to expand their operations.

people make the mistake to say that people fight for religion or ideology, that is never the case. People fight to improve their living standards, they fight to avenge their loved ones, but they do not fight for religion. They might use it to legitimise what they do, to provide them with solace, but their true reasons lie in the socio economic. It always was, it always will be. You only have to fear shariah when poverty exists, when it doesn't, there is no threat.

It seems that the violence we're seeing globally that is using violence as a means to force conversion is the Muslim religion. And racism I still can't agree, look at the Catholic Church, can't get much more diverse than that, worldwide. Most religious teach peace, but not a large percentage of Muslims.
