Good one! I guess that means that in the movie the "floater" was hollowed out a bit to make it bouyant. I can't believe I'm such a Caddyshack nerd that I noticed that.

We did this in one take, enabling the element of surprise. The one in the movie must have been a prop (because it floated). When I secretly placed the real Babyruth in my pool, I was surprised that it sank to the bottom. It didn't deminish the effect too much. But hey, we pulled it off.

Actually, I think that it's sinking to the bottom is what made it work best. Otherwise it probably would have been spotted, tempering the suprise reaction a bit. You couldn't have pulled it off better!

They probably had a prop for the floating scene cause of just that reason and then a real BR during the no big deal scene.
Or.. maybe Nestle changed their formula.
