@kageryu311 with a competent driver the super snake has been driven into the high 10s on drag radials. the reason sum of the times for the super snake are in the 12s are due to poor driving and lack of traction. if you notice the 12 second times are at over 125mph indicating 10 second potential.the gt500 is capable of 11.70s in stock form on stock tires. remember a cars performance is all in the driver.a power tool is as good as its operator.

This subaru has a way smaller engine than any v8 mustang, and still puts out ton of power, thats already something to be proud of, american cars HAVE to have big block v8s in order put out the power, doesnt that sum it up? btw, there is replacement for displacement, theres smart japanese people who engineer and make smaller engines with the same power as you big displacement engines...
@genypig The general rule of thumb is more cubic inches equals more torque. Nobody said we HAVE to have V8s, it's just what we do. We haven't tried building American 4 bangers. All modern V8s used in Mustangs are also just small blocks, not big blocks. The reason we use V8s is because of their potential. The horsepower in this GT500 is about 6 percent of what they're capable of. The top fuel race cars use V8s with 8,000 horsepower, but it's hardly practical in a street mustang.
Hemi motors are state of the art... They were ahead of there time. Most top fuel drag cars use a hemi style motor. I'm a Ford guy myself but I have respect for a hemi.
@chrispraetsch I think your right thats no way its an STI. My Mustang V6 runs better numbers that Suburu and no way can my V6 outrun an STI pulling mid to low 13's.
The STI's are forced induction so yes they will have some pep to them,(as much as an older stock GT) thats why when they build a small block V8 that has the same HP as a turbo 4cyl then they decide to throw a supercharger on the small block V8 and look at what we have 500+ HP, so yes you cant build a reliable 4cyl that has 500+HP daily driver. I have a GT500 dynoed at 605HP at the wheels, with no upgrades except Exhaust, Intake and tune and its a daily driver, so yes those cars are garbage.

True but not true. The new 2010 GT500's dont have the scream like they used to. They some how done away with that. But seeing as how the power to weight ratio is on a subie the subie could have done better. But the GT500 owned his ass!

yea wrx's are turbocharged too but you're right. that was definitely NOT an sti. would've been closer if it was, might have even won depending on the turbo and tune.

Almost double the hp, and defenitely double the tourque in the stangs favor. If he didnt win he should have his car taken away. Those GT500s are fast, there is no denying that. For that money i rather buy a C6 Z51 Vette with money left over for mods.

damn guess the rex wasn't tuned enough but hey djd6973 there are plenty of "tuners" that can whoop up on stangs too so its all good...personaly i give it up to anybody who hooks up their cars & to me the whole import domestic rivalry is played out if you like domestics coo if you like imports coo...i choose imports its just what i like been doin them up for 12 years now
