I had some close friends in this choir. We also performed it as a school choir. It was such fun jumping from that first descant to the the alto solo of 2:15. I must admit, this was one of my favorite pieces, and I'm a little disappointed by the pace. As far as the vocalizations it can be pretty hard to avoid that with such a large choir.
Keep it up region 20! I still know kids doing their thing there.
I think the vocalizations obscure the words sometimes. As a fan of the poem I find that to be a major problem. it sounds pretty enough, but I'd like to clearly hear the words.
I was totally not in this choir, however I remember when this was a region piece, such memories. My favorite region song ever in the three years I've done it.
region 20 is like coppell(where i am from), duncanville, booker t, highland park, mansfield, macarthur, south grand prairie, and grand prairie, and more around that area
My choir director is on of the directors for this region :)

My sister sang in this choir! She's the solo at 2:15!!!!!!! (And she was part of the descant at 1:31, also.)
She got first chair, and made it into the All-State Women's Choir.
Anyways, I love this song. :)
