I would have muted the strat guitar parts and attempted to find a way to imply the harmony rather than play such involved full chords.

Just my opinion. I still have a copy of one of the original 12" vinyl singles of this song and saw it on TV! I loved Scritti Politti heaps as a young whipper-snapper.

Sad about Miles, I agree, but I always thought the original dragged a bit - guess I never got over the transition from scratchy (skank bloc bologna etc) to (admittedly-deliberately) cloying. I think Green would like the glibness.
