The anime storyline always kills it, only some doesn't, and DearS is one of them that didn't have a ruined storyline which I like. I don't care about why you watch anime. That's a sign of a good artist. An artist needs to be like a chameleon, have different drawing style. Look ath Akira, the creator of Dragon Ball, he's a good artist and everything and made other mangas and animes, but he only has like one signiture drawing, all his drawing looks the same, from different animes and mangas, and even sometime within the same anime and manga. But he's an old timer artist, old timer artist has that habit. New timer artist now has different style, which is good. ^^

i just finished this anime two nights ago. i must say: i'm absolutely in love with it. Storyline and whatnot could have been better, but some of the things that were said by Miu about a slave's nature; the psychology; the idealism... it was beautiful to me. However, i can't see how this was directed towards a teen audience and not a more mature one. The subject matter just isn't... childish.
