well done! i wish i would have an alto sax and play ten porcent of what you play, flying like a bird, congrats!!! keep playig, i hope see some new vids of your evolution, greetings from a buenos aire´s guy that loves jazz music.
slow down and swing more, its to choppy. Feel the 8th note more and articulate it, but dont kill the note with your tonge. Listen to Charlie Parker's CDs as much as you can, the omni book is a bible to bebop and take a lifetime to learn...keep up the good work, and thats a very nice horn, some professionals dont have that good of equipment!
Hey man sounds like you're making some good progress. You're technique is also very good, just make sure your fingers do not come far off of the keys; make sure they stay close to facilitate quick and clean playing. Also, your tone isn't necessarily the best, but its good, especially for not playing that long. To make it better, practice long tones. These will help with better breath control, your tone, and your intonation. All of which are extremely important in playing well.
Quote from thelidison : i play tenor sax and im not sayin that im alot better but im playin this song for jazz band and u sound like shit
You're so stupid man ! I would really like to hear you playing sax ! Comments like that should be banned from youtube ! Players want to improve, not to be insult ! please remove it, you so stupid man.
Swimmersax, nice horn, BIG SOUND, but that might be the mic next to the horn. If you haven't been playing too long, then this isn't bad, I would practice on basic jazz articualtions. I also reccomend the omni book, which is a whole lotta songs transcribed from Parker's songs, which is the real deal and played as in his recordings, start slow and get technic, and then work on it a little faster, a metronome would really help you, keep up the work buddy, hope to here from more of your playing!
I was actually playing from the omni book ^_^ i start a new song with my teacher every 2 weeks or so...My teacher took the time to get me the recordings for each song in its original/ and half-speed tempo(which helps out a lot)...we're beginning to start improv with simpler songs and with easy chord changes.....its hard o.o...hes also teaching me (im not sure if this is correct but) the Barry Harris Bebop Technique along with the improv to make smoother transitions. A bit ocmplicated to explain
good book for beginning improvastion is Jamey Abersold's book called Maiden Voyage, Vol, 54.
its got a background CD with bass, drums, and piano, so its like having your own rythm section! It'd be a good investment and great for a beginner for improvasation! Good luck brother!
so you're saying you sound a little bit like shit? What kind of musician are you, how about have a little respect for others, compared to parker and coltrane, i am sure you sound like a massive pile of shit. Music involves a lot of respect, and before putting someone down, how about you maybe try helping out a bit, asswipe.
wow....you really gave the kid some inspiration....what an excellent choice of words, "u sound like shit " is a wonderful inspirational phrase. So swimmersax, u got any new tunes up yet?
not yet ^.^ i didnt have time because of exams and all that school crap. I have spring break now so maybe ill put something up. Sorry for the horrible sound quality, but the only recording device I have is my own OLYMPUS digital camera >.> which sucks
isn't it hard to type with your head shoved so far up your ass? dude, get off your high horse, i'm willing to bet that I can play this song even better than you.
I dont think he's talking about the wobbling. I think he's talking about the fact that he's flat. And I do have an idea about woodwinds, Ive been playing the sax for 7 years.

tune your instrument,please...but very good...

You have basically no idea about woodwinds. Its tune is alright, the "wobbling" sound comes from the player's lack of tension on the mouthpiece.
Not bad played, needs a bit more refinement ;)
