They wont do another tour because they had there glory days. It would be nice for them to do a charity concert though in the states or something. The Best Song by the Best Band. People say they stopped making zeppelins in the late 1930's but in 1969 a Zeppelin took flight that soared higher than any airship and it's still afloat today through fans
I dont understand one thing, y dont they do a renunion tour? its been such a long time now? whoz fault it is? y r they not getting back together? I guess all the fans wants to see Led Zepplin again, its the biggest and the best band in the world, I know the drummer has passed away and im very sorry for him, but well its been such a long time now, they should do a renunion tour, if any1 knowz whatz the problem between them then please reply.
@kblp you must be very uneducated how would you do a reunion tour when they don't have the original drummer? It wouldn't be a reunion tour it would be awesome to see all of them with jason bonham, his son, and they already did it before
@kblp I know Plant is the one who is reluctant to tour. partly bc he has other projects which Jason & JPJ also have, not real sure what Jimmy is doing with his music these days. I think the rest of the band would do it but aren't ecstatic about it because I think they have a feeling of not wanting to do what other bands like the stones are doing and running it into the ground overexposed. Zeps music has that anti commercial aura about it and they want to keep it that way. Thats why up until a fe
w years ago they finally allowed their music in movies and commercials. IMO I think they should at least do another show in the states bc they should their gratitude to the country which gave them the most success. Fortunately,(not to brag) I won tickets through the raffle and went to London and my gf and I were in the 3rd row. I've never felt so much elation in my life.
@karanmaxfilms I think he is a very good drummer.... of course, John Bonham is the eternal Led Zeppelin drummer, but i think he did a good job doing his father's work ;)
I started playing guitar because of them. Recently I recorded some original music. If you want to hear how Led Zeppelin-inspired music sounds 2011 style click on wisztrock. I think you'll like it.
gets me thinking.... obviously they're not in it for the money, because they could tour now and make a billionty dollars. I'm a huge Zep fan, and from what I've heard, it's mostly Plant disinterested in reforming the band full time - which brings me to my point... he must have a LOT of belief in what he's doing now, to give Led Zeppelin the cold shoulder! Alison Krauss IS pretty hot I suppose...
I think the reason why Robert Plant doesnt want to do another renunion tour is because of this song. He said he got tired of doing all the time, and you can tell he's just really no into the song in this video.
Show me a better vocalist than Robert Plant, a better guitarist than Jimmy Page and a better band than Led Zeppelin. No cover will ever cover this song like they did.
@meyerrogand I hope nobody plays this song like them, that's the point of a cover. Better vocalist than Plant? Russell Allen, Chris Cornell, James LaBrie (in his prime, not at all anymore). Better guitarist than Paige? If you want to go with this era in music, I'm more of an Alex Lifeson fan myself. That's not to say Paige and Plant aren't incredible. And I can't really think of to many rock drummers who are on par with Bonham, and John Paul Jones is an incredibly underrated bassist/musician.
The problem with Robert Plant's new music, even though it's really good, it just doesn't generate as much popularity and sales as Zeppelin.From what I heard,after the show, Page and Jones were already writing new music for a new tour.If only plant would make up his mind.
In all this game, the devil is the victim, is the scapegoat, will be acused of everything cause the GOD don’t want any rivals*. Conclusion: live at the full in the freedom of GOD (praying in a right form,following the INSTRUCTIONS in the Bible - keeping the 10 commandments - including keeping the Saturday as the 7th day etc.) instead of in the incapacity and limited power of devil cause he is just a temporary puppet.
MysterioFan02, I guess you are correct about Muddy Waters and others. Nonetheless, I have always felt this is the GREATEST band of all time. The Beatles were pioneers and I take nothing away from their creative talent but Led Zeppelin wrote songs, and performed them for their albums (as well as live) like NO OTHER BANDS before or since. Plant, Page, Bonham and Jones were four creative musical geniuses who together were just simply brilliant. Any thoughts fellow Zep Fans?
First there was the 50's bands. Then there was the Beatles in the early 60's. Then there was Bob Dylan, soonafter the Rolling Stones followed. Shortly thereafter this small little English Band stepped up to the mic and sang BABE I'M GONNA LEAVE YOU, HOW MANY MORE TIMES, and SINCE I'VE BEEN LOVING YOU. They called themselves LED ZEPPELIN, and well, you know the rest, is history.
I think that Zeppelin should have taken a leaf (or page) out of the Beatle's book: Do not damage the legacy. This is embarrassing for the former members of "Led Zeppelin". Minus five stars.
We've started a youtube channel to get real music back. Our plan is to gain subscribers, and have bands sending us demos. We'll feature the best songs on our channel, so people can stay updated on new bands
please check out our channel (music already up) and spread the word!!
You know what I think is great here? To hear the people singing along so beautifully. That's how you know when a song has reached the hearts of your public. I've seen this once before, in a Queen concert, where a whole stadium joined Brian May to sing "Love of My Life" in Freddie's memory...
I'm not a diehard zep fan, but I appreciate good music and I have I thru IV on LP and CD. To me that's excellent zep and then dig a little through the other albums. This performance is amazing. Every EXCELLENT band was great back in their heyday, but to hear these older bands return is awesome and actually I prefer this performance. much more laid back. I love the old stuff. This new Top 40 shit sucks. Kids today don't know good music. what a shame!! I'm seeing Plant this summer. :-D YES
Why is rock dying? Because we are all living in the past. Never forget the past of rock, but look to the future! New rock bands can reach the top of the charts if we listen to it!!! Dont let rock die, look for new awesome rock bands like Jet!
Great artists are tempered with age. Frank Sinatra's voice as an example, roughened and deepened in his ending years as with other non-rockers. So you don't judge on current conditions. In fact you don't 'judge' at all. Just enjoy then for who they are, and what they've accomplished. They were the best rock band ever. True the Beatles, Stones etc were great too but Zep had that power-spark that the others didn't quite ignite!
Sorry, but capetown99 has it right. Jimmy deserves respect for his past, but don't judge his playing ability on this, or what he's doing now. He's my number two, behind Hendrix, also. Throw in your "The Song Remains the Same" DVD, and check out the Stairway solo there. Mad fingering, with heart and soul poured into it. ... There are cover bands out there that have very talented guys doing closer to "then" Jimmy than Jimmy can, today. Maybe they should make a new album. Is Jimmy up for that?
@Bruno1995Bruno THANK YOU.....I have been telling people this for years....SURE anyone that is good at playing guitar can play something someone else has played.....BUT its the ability to write this stuff is what seperates the men from the boys.
@Bruno1995Bruno Page is far too much a gentleman to say something so rude to anyone who wants to do justice to his music. Google the band Led Zepagain and look a the picture on the main page. Do you recognize the smiling Englishman standing with them?
@TheShepster80 Oh Come on! Again with Taurus? it may have at first a similar progression (which wasn't the same), as they were clearly influenced by them, but it was only that part, was the solo also from Taurus?? was the heavy rock ending aslo from Taurus?
@Bruno1995Bruno Look u know as well as me they stole a bunch of songs and claimed them as there own! until people latched on! And the intro to Stairway was clearly the same.
There's something in this song. Something uplifting and hopeful. Every time I listen to it, I feel like being in a biblical new world, where the evil is finally beaten and our beloved ones, who have passed away, are coming back to life, "and the forests will echo in laughter".
Jimmy's chops aren't there. The Rock Hall performance, Beck and him on stage together, and Beck begging Page to solo, along with the everyone else, only to have Jimmy shy away.....Check out "It Might Get Loud in Here", and he NEVER solos. Just alot of posturing....I would be the happiest guy on the planet to see him play like his old self, and have more "magic". Beck still rocks. Clapton can turn it on. I'll go along with, it's better to have and lost.... but that doesn't change the present.
@ExpensiveSnow But then how do you explain Page's performance on Dazed and Confused at this same 2007 reunion show? He seems to handle the soloing and everything else quite well (except the mistake after the solo that may have been Jason Bonham's fault, not sure). And Page's performance of Good Times and Black Dog also sound good to me in this reunion show too.
Jimmy Page IS a shell of his former self. That 30 second solo is all I need to see. I haven't seen the same ole Jimmy since his tour with Paul Rodgers, the "radioactive" Tour. Yeah, I'd love to see them again, but Jimmy ain't there, which makes me wonder, "Why the heck doesn't he work on his chops"? Beck still has it. Clapton, ditto. But neither could touch Jimmy's live guitar work in songs like Dazed and Confused, No Quarter, or his phenomenal solo in Stairway...Nobody can touch it.
I thought Jimmy was in trouble by Knebworth 1979. Heroin use, touring, and then Bonhams death took its toll.
Hes one of those guys who even if he his a shell of his former self he deserves respect simply on what he put down mainly from 68-75. Only Hendrix comes before him for me personally.

@amceagle1 Isn't calling Led Zeppelin the best band in the world judging??? Remember, Judge not, lest ye be judged :)
leirbagpeter 10 months ago
Sorry, but capetown99 has it right. Jimmy deserves respect for his past, but don't judge his playing ability on this, or what he's doing now. He's my number two, behind Hendrix, also. Throw in your "The Song Remains the Same" DVD, and check out the Stairway solo there. Mad fingering, with heart and soul poured into it. ... There are cover bands out there that have very talented guys doing closer to "then" Jimmy than Jimmy can, today. Maybe they should make a new album. Is Jimmy up for that?

@leirbagpeter
Cover bands: "I can play that"
Jimmy page should say: "Yes, but can you write something like that?"

@Bruno1995Bruno THANK YOU.....I have been telling people this for years....SURE anyone that is good at playing guitar can play something someone else has played.....BUT its the ability to write this stuff is what seperates the men from the boys.

@Bruno1995Bruno You are absolutely right!

@Bruno1995Bruno Page is far too much a gentleman to say something so rude to anyone who wants to do justice to his music. Google the band Led Zepagain and look a the picture on the main page. Do you recognize the smiling Englishman standing with them?

@Bruno1995Bruno Well taurus can.
TheShepster80 6 months ago
@TheShepster80 Oh Come on! Again with Taurus? it may have at first a similar progression (which wasn't the same), as they were clearly influenced by them, but it was only that part, was the solo also from Taurus?? was the heavy rock ending aslo from Taurus?
Bruno1995Bruno 6 months ago
@Bruno1995Bruno Look u know as well as me they stole a bunch of songs and claimed them as there own! until people latched on! And the intro to Stairway was clearly the same.
TheShepster80 6 months ago
@Bruno1995Bruno Yes he would. But it doesn't change the fact that Jimmy Page stole the intro riff from a local band...

There's something in this song. Something uplifting and hopeful. Every time I listen to it, I feel like being in a biblical new world, where the evil is finally beaten and our beloved ones, who have passed away, are coming back to life, "and the forests will echo in laughter".

Much better then the live aid "reunion"
mckeonpaul 10 months ago 2
Jimmy's chops aren't there. The Rock Hall performance, Beck and him on stage together, and Beck begging Page to solo, along with the everyone else, only to have Jimmy shy away.....Check out "It Might Get Loud in Here", and he NEVER solos. Just alot of posturing....I would be the happiest guy on the planet to see him play like his old self, and have more "magic". Beck still rocks. Clapton can turn it on. I'll go along with, it's better to have and lost.... but that doesn't change the present.
ExpensiveSnow 10 months ago

But neither could touch Jimmy's live guitar work in songs like Dazed and Confused, No Quarter, or his phenomenal solo in Stairway...Nobody can touch it.
leirbagpeter 10 months ago
@leirbagpeter
