Every time I watched the show I always admired that house, something mysterious about it. I checked it out on google street view and something was going on with the house next door, like they were trying to cover it. Also the tree to the left - funny to see how much it's grown over the series.

@LivingCharmed123 The inside was a set-they just used this house for exterior shots. Apparently the neighbors didn't share the enthusiasm for the show-they didn't like all the traffic from the crew clogging up their street and some residents didn't like the fact that the show was about witchcraft.
A guy who lived next door (not sure which side) would stand on his property and bang pots and pans together to disrupt the shooting, hoping that they'd take production of the show elsewhere...
Ppl who have their homes used for a TV/ Movie get paid alot of money 2 have their home used.This is because fans constantly visit these locations & the real owners have to endure all the strangers invading their privacy. U can see by this clip fans taking pics and standing on their property. Alot of fans think they live there.Southfork had fans who thought the Ewings lived there,& visited@ all hours& fans have been known to peak inside windows.Which is why owners of Southfork sold it in1984.
yes... i knocked the door and said that I've come all the way from the UK just to see this house ( which i had ) and she was very touched by that so she offered me to have a look inside ( which is rare because all of carrol avenue is private property)... inside is very weird.. you have a wall behind you as you walk in and then to your right is the living room and behind that is the dining room and kitchen... if you look at the un aired pilot episode.. it is basically the same as that!

Then I'd decorate the inside to look just like it did on the show (I know that was just a set) complete with a book of shadows. Then I'd open it for free for all the Charmed fans to come and visit and hang out!

Yeah I had to use the can and the park was 2 minutes away....We weren't sure if they used it for filming. I have seen that park in other movies/TV shows as well.

THIS IS A REAL HOUSE! The set was modeled after it, but this house is hundreds of years old, so the interior is obviously different. But the objects in the manor, like the stairs, are the same. Few things were based off of the real house and put into the set.
I don't know how much of the inside is the "same" as the set,, but this house doesn't have a 3rd story attic, like it does on the show. That's one major difference.

I think its funny how there is a Jeep Cherokee and a Mini Cooper parked on either side of the road which are two of the cars driven in the show.. the Jeep by Piper in earlier episodes and the Mini Cooper by Phoebe in later episodes.

Yes. Someone lives there. We talked to a friend of the neighbors accross the street. They took a picture of us in front of the house. She said that she had only seen the show a couple of times.

no, most of the outdoor scenes were filmed at the actual house (the first episode was filmed there) and some of the interior scenes. most of the interior scenes where filmed in sets though.
I must say my friend and I were right there and happened something just incredible. Murray the owner let us in!!!! we even took some pictures!!, it is today and we still cant believe what happened...so thank you Murray!! you know we owe you a couple of beers here in Mallorca!!!! ;-)

i don't even think that anybody lives there right now and even if they do they probably don't care and respect the face that people are excited to see such a famous house. i doubt they would press charges unless you knocked on their door and started annoying them.
Exactly. Yes, someone lives there. We were able to meet the neighbors that live across the street(they filmed shots there from "Thank You For Not Morphing" in Season 2) Someone that lives there did not come out when we were taking pictures, but no...they don't want you knocking on their door or actually going ON the property. But you can definitely enjoy taking pictures. We did.
That is so cool!! I'm pretty sure the people who live there are used to people coming and taking pictures of their house. It is definitely one of the coolest things ever. It's cool that in the show they keep the street number (1329 Prescott I believe and the real address is 1329 Caroll.) It is a good tribute. I miss the show terribly!! Thanks for everything!! I can't wait to go!

that's really nice! allthough they shoot everything in the studio, a couple scenes are taking outside. if they are inside the manor, it its't really there.

I am so glad that someone taped this. I just went November 1st, 2007 on my 5 day trip to L.A. and I got SOOOOO many pics infront of the house. I was so everwhelmed when I got there i forgot to video tape it!
Actually, ComedyKids, I don't believe that is the house that had Gamil in it...when Paige goes up to the house (the one with Gamil)you can see all of the houses around it, and I don't see the "Manor", so I'm just assuming it was filmed on a whole other street, probably in that neighborhood though.

I stopped by here in early 2002 - it's a beautiful house, but MUCH smaller-looking than you'd think. The set would definitely not fit inside.

I'm not trying to be rude, but why do you people keep saying that? It is not a matter of being 'forbidden". It's a matter of having respect for people's privacy. I mean, c'mon! There's probably several people a week...especially vacation season, that go to see famous houses....you don't knock on their door! That is the number one rule! I hope none of you that go to see it, do that. Please...respect the owner's privacy. Thank you.

Yes. Someone lives there. We talked to a friend of the neighbors accross the street. They took a picture of us in front of the house. She said that she had only seen the show a couple of times.

wow that is awsome one of these days or years lol i plan to visit it myself i hope its there by the time im old enough to go anywhere well im 15 1/2 so pretty soon once im able to drive =) and i agree with everyone who doesnt want to live there?lol anyone would want to live there well charmed fans any how.

That is seriously the best home anyone could live in !!! do you reckon the people who live there are charmed fans??!!?? At leats they'd know how lucky they are if they are a fan!! I would love to live there, but according to the pilot episode which was actually filmed in the house, the inside is nothing like it is shown on charmed, because that is filmed in a studio :( If i lived there i would have it done up so that it looked exactly like the one in the show!!

If anyone likes to hunt on the web you can go to Echo Park on the web and look for historical echo park. somewhere on there is a picture of this home from the early 1900's.
Pretty cool! You have to look carefully their is a horse and buggy in front of it.

everything that happened in the house was actually filmed on sets in studios at paramount.

no, most of the outdoor scenes were filmed at the actual house (the first episode was filmed there) and some of the interior scenes. most of the interior scenes where filmed in sets though.

i don't even think that anybody lives there right now and even if they do they probably don't care and respect the face that people are excited to see such a famous house. i doubt they would press charges unless you knocked on their door and started annoying them.

Exactly. Yes, someone lives there. We were able to meet the neighbors that live across the street(they filmed shots there from "Thank You For Not Morphing" in Season 2) Someone that lives there did not come out when we were taking pictures, but no...they don't want you knocking on their door or actually going ON the property. But you can definitely enjoy taking pictures. We did.

That is so cool!! I'm pretty sure the people who live there are used to people coming and taking pictures of their house. It is definitely one of the coolest things ever. It's cool that in the show they keep the street number (1329 Prescott I believe and the real address is 1329 Caroll.) It is a good tribute. I miss the show terribly!! Thanks for everything!! I can't wait to go!

that's really nice! allthough they shoot everything in the studio, a couple scenes are taking outside. if they are inside the manor, it its't really there.

Actually, ComedyKids, I don't believe that is the house that had Gamil in it...when Paige goes up to the house (the one with Gamil)you can see all of the houses around it, and I don't see the "Manor", so I'm just assuming it was filmed on a whole other street, probably in that neighborhood though.

Really? That's cool. I didn't know that. Are you talking about "Dan's" house? The other one (the run-down one on the right) was for sale while we were there. They only had flyers and did not want to be disturbed at all. The asking price was like 1.5 million. I'd fix it up to live next to the Charmed house.
