  • Excellent speech. God help us all to come back to real Roman-Catholic faith.

  • @ElectronicCatVICTORY Such a person is very unfortunate, and we should pray for such a person. But such a person would either be (officially) a non-Christian or a Protestant; their desire is for the truth and that is how they will be judged. But, what they actually are is not Catholic. They wish to become Catholic, but are prevented - that does not make them Catholic, it makes them someone who desires Catholicism.

  • God bless Pope Benedict XVI

  • and yes it is wrong for that priest to quote during the mass what a protestant person said, the priests are supposed to be the amongst the first fighters for the conversion to the CATHOLIC CHURCH, the ONLY CHURCH OF GOD!

  • Lesson learned: Only go to the Latin Mass in the future.

  • Does this generation must die out for Church to be cleansed like the Holy People in the deasert? I hope this is not necessary....

  • Thank you for, yet again, another excellent video. Unfortunately, this sounds all too familiar.

I am so grateful for your channel!! God bless you abundantly in your work.

  • Can I ask what your opinion is on the Anglican Communion?

  • @Dragoondude32 You are refering to the Anglican Communion, and not the new Anglican Ordinariate? The Anglican Communion is a Protestant community, arising from the English rather than the European Reformation. It is (like all non-Catholic religions) deficient in various matters of the truth.

  • @RealCatholicTV

I've been to Anglican parishes that go red at the thought of being called Protestant, and the Bishop of Rome, is definitely highly respected in said parishes

  • @Dragoondude32 I've been to baptist communities who object to being called Protestant, and I've seen Catholics who support women's ordination who object to being called heretics. Calling a dog a cat doesn't make it so. It doesn't matter how much the pope is "respected" - is the parish in communion with him? If not, they are not Catholic. And the options for Christians are Protestant, Catholic, or Orthodox.

  • @RealCatholicTV wrong the option for christians is being part of GOD'S ONLY CATHOLIC CHURCH!"

  • @lightsand900 You misunderstand - any person who is Christian is either Catholic, or Orthodox, or Protestant. I'm not saying non-Catholic is an ACCEPTABLE option, but it is an option whereby one can still be Christian. The comment is referencing those non-Catholic Christians who object to being called "Protestant"

  • I can empathized with your frustration Michael, I had to leave church on Christmas Eve Mass, since the liberal priest at my parish had decided for his parishoners to sit down while we enjoyed the Christmas play instead of the reading of the Holy Gospel for the glorious night.

  • I remember being so upset when I didn't get the "confirmation slap" for my confirmation in 2005. My dad was conformed pre-Vatican II and didn't know they since had changed the method.

I was looking forward to it. It seemed important and significant.

  • The only thing missing at this Confirmation was the clown!

  • What on abomination! I feel for real catholics who had to live through that service. Did not Jesus say,"Give to Casear, what belongs to Casear and give to God what belongs to God". The priest needs to fill the laity with the holy spirit and not their pockets with money.

  • I'm a young guy - this sickly sweet and yet somehow watered down version of Catholicism is all I grew up knowing. Now that I've found my way into an area with a High Latin Mass every week, I can't help but wondering...what on earth did we give this up for? Who decided that we needed to hold hands and sway back and forth to chords strummed out on a questionably tuned guitar? The beauty and depth of the Latin Mass speaks for itself, and I can't help but feeling that we've been robbed of something.

  • @kubicam Well said young man! Bravo

  • I am getting confirmed this year. It is true. I have not been catechised except by myself, your videos and Catholic answers website.

Most of my friends think all Churches are equal and do not follow the Church's teachings on basically anything. We need prayers. I fear for my generation of Catholics.

  • During my confirmation last year, i was appaled by the amount of disrespect amoung the young nowadays. I almost yelled at them to get out before mass started because it angered me so much. Besides just me and my friend, and my holy confirmation sponsor (lucky me, seriously) EVERYONE (adults, deacon, even the class "teachers" ) just talked away. It was a disgusting display of disrespect. Prayer and genuine Catholic action is most definitely needed, thank you Michael, you help me keep hope.

  • I had the challenging experience of being hired (as a retired priest) by a good pastor to teach the Confirmation class of 18 kids. He retired before the semester ended. The kids were 98% pro-choice, pro-gay marriage, pro-euthenasia. By Confirmation time the new pastor vetted no-one, allowed Romero and Martin Luther King as confirmation names and invited a Confirmandi girl to 'concelebrate' with him & asked her publicly if she wanted to be a priest some day! Bishop did nothing. I was fired!

  • @BonhommeB How terrible!

  • This is why I attend FSSP Masses you know what your getting.

  • My daughter was confirmed last fall in the Chicago area. It was just like Michael said except for $2. I'd gone to her classes, heard some heresy, knew they weren't preparing her properly. So I took her on a 2-week Catholic pilgrimage to Europe, which taught us much about the faith. Best thing we ever did. At home, we visited a church with a tabernacle in a hidden back room. My daughter noticed this and reminded me to genuflect facing backwards as we leave. I must have done something right!

  • The most beautiful Confirmation I've ever seen was celebrated by the new Bishop of Santa Rosa, Bishop Robert Vasa. He gave a brilliant homily on the Gifts of the Spirit and asked the confirmandi many questions about the faith. The people of the Diocese of Santa Rosa don't know how fortunate they are to be receiving him as their new bishop.

  • Zombies??? You give them too much credit.

  • The Holy Catholic Church really needs a Restoration, and we are running out of time.

  • These abuses are happening right under our Holy Father's nose directly in the Vatican. That is why things are so bad.

Praise Jesus for the translation that we are rerecieving that harks back to the original latin translation. It' it is a start but it is going to take a long battle to remove the smoke of satan from Our Church.

  • I was confirmed in San Jose, California at the hockey stadium. It comprised of crazy dancing, irreverence, and all Bishop Mcgrath had to say was "God will always love you!" and that was it.....afterward there were tons of Jehovah's witnesses handing out literature.

  • hahaha michael is the man

  • +JMJ+

Wait a minute...shouldn't a BISHOP be the one to confer the Sacrament of Confirmation to the children, not the parish priest? O.o

*sigh* gonna kneel now for all of us.

God bless you for your efforts, Michael. This report is pretty disturbing.

  • @nuntym The Bishop is the ordinary minister of the Sacrament of Confirmation. However, a priest may be delegated by the bishop to confirm. This usually happens if a diocese only has one bishop and he can't get around to all the parishes. This is actually acceptable, that's why a priest is considered the extraordinary minister of confirmation. Mr. Voris does mention that the priest was delegated by the bishop to confirm.

  • @Chente25 Ahh, thanks!

  • Zombies... it is impossible to find a better description. I just found that in my parrish, many children preparing for their first communion, are allowed to use protestant bibles just because it is "a present from my uncle".

  • The parish where I'm a registered parishoner couldn't place the tabernacle any closer to the parking lot unless they actually placed it in one of the handicap parking spots...of course that may have offended a handicap person, so they put Christ in a coat closet to the side of the entrance corridor of the Church. I'm not making this up, it is true. I am currently pushing to have the tabernacle relocated front and center of the sanctuary, but no progress yet. It is a sad state of affairs.

  • I believe that we are in the end times talked about in Revelations!

The faithful Catholics must persevere until the end. God Bless you my friend.

  • How sad. Where was the bishop?

We need to bring back holy traditional (orthodox) catholicism.

  • I can so unfortunately relate to that situation here in the province of Québec... priests walking down the aisle like it's a one man show or a carnival parade. People talking loud like they're at the restaurant. Ignoring Christ completely as they come in or out of the church... it's painful...

    Hélène

  • I cannot think of how many times people have the attitude of, "well, Father said it, so it must be right" in regards to an issue when clearly he isn't. Good job Mr. Voris. However, one thing I would like to point out (and I say this with fraternal charity) that we actually recieve the gifts of the Holy Spirit at our baptism NOT at confirmation. Confirmation doesn't bestow anything on us but more graces to go out and be soldiers of Christ (as Confirmation used to be seen as). God Bless.

  • What to do??? There is no opportunity to speak up during Mass. Where was the Bishop?

In the 60's (I'm getting older), Confirmation was "HUGE". It was probably the only time I saw or heard the Bishop in person.

As I recall, the Confirmation celebration was very reverential, and was all about the individual responsibilities we were taking on. The Bishop even said that if I wasn't ready to take on the responsibility of Confirmation, to not do it.

    What to do???

  • I feel for the young people who were Confirmed at this Mass. I was Confirmed in 1949, and looking back, I remember it as one of the best experiences of my life. We were Confirmed by the Bishop, and we received a Prayer book at the end of the Sacrament. My First Holy Communion, and my Confirmation were two of the most glorious experiences in my life. It is a shame that these children will not experience the Holiness of the Sacrament, as I did.

    God Bless You, Michael.

    John

  • sounds like the Mass I have been to last Sunday...

  • This is exactly what I've thought many times and I concluded that the problem must be with me, but Come to realize, it wasn't me. As a convert, it blows my mind that Catholics are so willing to "Chuck" their faith and or compromise. Why is this? I want to be fully Catholic, IS THAT SO HARD? Apparently it is. - I wasn't born a Catholic but you can be darn sure I'm going to die as one - a real one.

  • The irreverance for Jesus, present in "Body Blood Soul and Divinity" in the Eucharist is disgusting. All three of my Parishes have elements to which you described in this video. I wish people were quiet before and after Mass. I think I'll bring it up with the Priests, b/c it really is getting ridiculous. Very good video, as I think (sadly) many Catholics (practicing and devout) can relate. Pax pacis RC-TV.

  • That beahvior is simply unacceptable

  • From what you say it sounds like blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, and this "ceremony" may not be forgivable.

No wonder the young people stop going to Mass if they are even confirmed!

I would like to hear a really good homily about the Holy Spirit and the seven gifts from any priest or Bishop--is there one on RCTV?

  • youre right though....youre right.

  • Wow.. I can only imagine what would I be now if I was confirmed that way. I'd probably think of the faith as a "hahaha" ceremony instead of being recruited by the Church of Jesus Christ.

  • Been a while since you've gone to a traditional novus disorder service? A few of the churches in our area are so similar to this discription, it's scary! Were the sound effects used from actual laughter and chattering from real service? I was confirmed in a very similar way, and I'll tell you what, a stong slap on the cheek would have done me a world of good at the time! That boy is very blessed to have you as his sponsor! Prayers and God Bless you RCTV! The devil HATES you right now!

  • I trust that my upcoming Confirmation will be more reverent of

the sacraments, and the real Presence of the Anointed Savior.

What you describe is not what I am hoping to experience at

    the Easter Vigil.

  • This was my home parish. I really never knew anything else until I found a wonderful parish where I go to college. I think the problem is that when you live in a parish like the one you're describing for long enough, you don't even realize anything is wrong...

  • Geez, Michael. Yes this is quite unfortunate indeed. Your confirmandee should just move with his family to a FSSP community. It sounds like that community is DEAD.

  • It's depressing. Presider Smiley's Night of the Living Dead - They'rrre eeveeerrry wheeerrre. I think at this point Jesus Wants to be over in the corner away from it all.!
