  • whos the musician????? :/

  • Nice dancing! Once I forced myself to stop thinking 'Joe Bitter danced that set when he won Worlds!!' I realised, yeah, you have awesome timing technique in general!

  • Beautiful dance and well done. I see nothing wrong in the lenght of your dress. Personally I have seen people who don't dance have skirts and dresses much shorter. I haven't learn Irish dance myself yet. I'm thirty years old and want to learn so much as I love my Irish heritage. Bright Blessing to you Sophie. May you alway be blessed.

  • @fulconer Look buddy, don't tell me how to wear my dress and wig. And knee length? Get real, never gonna happen.

  • @s0phiZle - Knee length? Totally unrealistic - but doesn't the rule say 3-4 in above the knee? It does here in the North West Region, UK - maybe your region is different? Your dress is lovely & your set dance is brilliant (wish I had your killer sense of timing - amazing!), but from this video footage, your dress does look a little short, but it could just be the perspecitve/vantage point the footage was shot from makes it look that way. I love your wig I think it suits you personally!

  • @scousedancer Yes my region is different! Our rule is halfway between the top of the knee and the bum, and because I'm reeeally tall (5'11) I have super long thighs so the skirt looks shorter on me, but that skirt was exactly midway between my bum and the top of my knee. It wasn't even my dress, it was my sisters.

I can't see why everyone is so obssessed with the length of my dress anyway, just watch the dance if thats what you came here for!

But thanks for your other comments.

  • @s0phiZle Whoa hun - chillax!! As you say, every region is different - and the colours look really good on you actually! You're lucky enough to be able to wear anything colourwise - I can't sadly (I love hot cerise pink but with red hair it looks truly gruesome trust me!!). I'd never have guessed you were so tall - guess the camera angle remark wasn't so far off. I loved your dancing, your timing is absolutely fantastic (I'm so jealous!). What region are you from if you don't mind me asking?

  • @fulconer - - are you an Irish Dancer? No? Then understand this, we wear wigs, live with it! Tackle football? Is that American football? Personally, I think those black marks players paint under their eyes look as silly as wigs do to you. Its horses for courses, mate - you have your costumes, we have ours

  • @scousedancer Hehehe. black marks. :o) It's actually used to prevent glare from lights. I'm a Kiwi a love League, Aussie Rules, American Football .... and even Gaelic Football.

Sorry. I adore the beauty and grace of Irish Dance, but simply hate the direction the dress code is going .... high hemlines, wigs, makeup, tan, expensive dresses. Cough, cough ... Shirley temple convention. I prefer the dress code of the 1980s .... simple, classy.

  • @fulconer WELL AS AN IRISH DANCER MYSELF, UR COMMENT IS OFFENSIVE, MABY SHE CANT AFFORD TO HAVE IT FIXED OR THATS ALL SHE HAS 4 NOW, SO Y DONT U BACK OFF AND GO MAKE FUN OF JUSTIN BIEBER OR SOMTIN CAUSE US DANCERS ARE USUALLY ELLIGANT AND PEACEFUL, BUT COMMENTS LIKE THIS BRING OUT MY MEAN SIDE, Y DONT U PRAY TO GOD TO HELP THAT GIRL, IN STEAD OF SHUNNING HER, SHOUDNT U LOVE EVERYONE, A FORGIVENESS IS GOOD, SO I RECCOMEND NEXT TIME U SEE A HOBO GIVE HIM A DOLLAR OR 2,

    ~ 111IRISHDANCER PEACEOUT

  • @111irishdancer No offense, but I wasn't actually shunning her .... just stating my opinion on short dresses and wigs in Irish dance.

She's actually a good dancer ... that she could have performed just as well WITHOUT the wig and a dress at knee level. I mean, that's obvious.

  • OMG THIS IS MY FAV! This is my set dance! =) wat a cowinkadink!

  • WOw that intro is long. Great !! good dancing

  • my favorite of all the heavy dances is the hornpipe.

    i ♥ you hornpipe!

  • @irishdancersami Those shoes were made for her, she ordered them from Ireland. Not sure who did them tho..

  • @s0phiZle if you don't mind my asking, what brand of shoes are you using? Thanks!

  • @irishdancersami They're Fays from Dublin, if youre thinking of getting new ones, go for them! They're so good and light and they mould to your feet perfectly :)

  • Very nicely done! Very clean movements but remember to smile!

  • @irishdancersami ok will do :)

  • Wow this is really good!
