I drove for Schneider for almost 12 years. I was an Instructor and a Trainer at different times. I had problems with the co from time to time, but I learned to manage myself and my miles. I made friends in the CSR dept, did favors for them and in return got good loads when I needed. You have to be flexible, and you have to prove that you are reliable. I would still be there had I not lost my medical certificate!! Truck driving is a lifestyle, not a career!! It's not for everyone!!
The campaign over-donating bosses (Thomas Schneider donated $10,300) at Schneider got their legislation passed... and the temporary governor even signed the bill at their offices. So much for backroom politics, the fraud is in the open now. Too bad for the shippers, union or not, I guess they should have bought their own governor. The over donation earns them a complaint at the accountability board. Boycott Schneider National!
I had 5 STLs in three years at SNI. Bill Mason was the only decent one of the lot. Probably had something to do with being a retired marine. He moved to Green Bay because niether he nor his wife could move up while they were at Walmart in Auburn, without the other quitting. I wonder where he is now, last I heard dispatching truckrail.
Thomas Schneider of Fish Creek WI donated over $10,000 to the campaigns of Wisconsin's Temporary Governor Scott Walker - earning Schneider National a place on the Boycott List. Let everyone you know "Time to Boycott Schneider National". Drivers take your skills elsewhere! Consumers if you see a Schneider truck delivering let the location know your boycott may reach them too. Boycott Schneider National!
this seems like a pissing match on Schnieder. I have been a driver for ten years and worked for about 6 companies..Schnieder I can honestly say that when i ran out of Carlisle PA they were the best company i have ever worked for. I rarely sat and I was home every week on time and if not they made it up generously, I would gladly go backt to them over Heartland or Western Express. All OTR companies will take advantage of you if you let them.
People, Trucking is a game. If you play smart, you win. If you sit on the sidelines with your head in your hands, you lose. Part of playing the game is choosing not only the right company, but the type of work that will suit your lifestyle or family life. If you have a wife and kids then OTR should not even be considered. You can make good money driving; and be home every single night. I have been doing it for 10 years. The lowest paying year I had was my 1st @ $55,000.
@3089280288 I don't know where you get that information. Everyone I know(personally) that drives earns well over $55,000. A few of the top tenure guys where I work are scratching six figures. Running class 3 tankers starts off at about $22-$25 an hour. I don't know where these guys find these jobs that don't pay over $50,000. If you are running OTR and not making over $70K annually, you are INSANE!!!! Go Local, the recruiters always try to make it seem as if OTR pays the most. IT NEVER DOES!!
@mlke4258 I just look up the stats online. The data indicated the average salary between 37k & 67k. My pay has never been as high as yours. In fact it's sometimes is less one year. There are plenty of jobs that pay less than 55k.
@3089280288 Yeah, I guess. I looked at Salary dot com before as well. There is one that lets you refine down to the zip code. Where you live(run) has everything to do with what you get paid. I bet I could rent a 3BR luxury apartment where you live for what you would pay for a small studio around here. I guess what I am saying is that if you are single and willing to move, you can make descent coin. The pay is there, it just depends on where you live or where you are willing to live...

SCHNEIDER NATIONAL IS A BAD COMPANY, THEY WILL FIRE YOU FOR ANY TICKET YOU GET ON THE ROAD, NO MATTER HOW GOOD YOU DO YOUR JOB, THEY'LL BOOT YOU OUT, AND DONT PAY YOUR ACTUAL MILEAGE.
I AGREE WITH YOU THE CO SUCK'D !!! MY OLD STL IS JENNY JEFFERIES IS NOW VP AT US
EXSPRESS I FEEL SORRY FOR THOSE DRIVERS. EVERY TIME I SEE A US EXSPRESS TRUCK I ASK THEM OVER THE RADIO IF JENNY IS FUCKING THEM THE SAME SHE DID AT SCHEIDER.
IMAGEN A TRUCKING MAGAZINE DID A STORY ABOUT HER. I PUT HER PICTURE ON MY DART BOARD. MY GAME HAS IMPROVED 1,000%
Who's better exactly? This is an industry wide issue, not a Schneider issue. The trucking industry is corrupt and incompetent. Until the government steps in and forces companies to obey labor laws, this will remain an industry wide problem.
if u get 3000+ why ur friend always cry and ask other drivers : how many miles per month? come on tell the truth.... may be u added zero by mistake>>>> 300+
i drove for schneider national ifrom june to aug of 06 even went thru the training academy got my cdl thru em but they lied to me when the said they had my back if something happened and screwed up my dac so bad i just let my cdl expire cause i couldnt find another driving job ill never drive for any truckiningco again for the bs they put me thru the trainings not bad if you listen to the instructors the co its self should listin to the drivers and not the polotition an money makers
i have a cdl and i was just looking for some tips on who i should get a job with and how to go about doing it the correct way. if you can help me please your advice is appreciated
schnider no longer takes students because they are trying to get the accident rate down... I had a friend that did the schnider thing, then went to werrner and loved it, I drive for a small company, and I think that's the only way to go, but regardless everything is different for everyone.
working for free. paid by the mile in a 40 miles radius...cheap bastards and stupid drivers.crooks filing claims after a year of truck load delivered,.,they have done it to many small companies has that happen to you?

If your thinking about driving a truck, don't do it. After all the hours you work you might average about $3.50 an hour.
