Though I am not yet sure of hair regrowth cause its still 3weeks of using it, but my friends say that they notice new tiny hair on my balding area. i unfortunately have alopecia areata i got it when it was da end of 6th grade and have been living with it from then i am now 15 yrs old so yup i have gotten very bad rude comments coming from other kids who think its so hilarious to laugh at ppl dat dont have the same choices dat they do. if it was me and i had a majic wand i would of done da deed of getting back my hair ... nd for everybody else too. so yup i can only ask god to help me .

ive had it for the past year.. and i have no more facial hair, and hardly any on my head now.. im 22, you learn a lot who you are but at the same time i was self conscious for the first time ever in my life.. it is what it is, i just am thankful its nothing drastically life threatening and what not....

I have had it since I was 1 and I am 22 now... I am sooo self concious...and sometimes my hair is okay and sometimes it is bad like right now...ever since I got it I had been getting Injections in my head to help treat it, and now i am also trying other methods cause for one day in my life i would love to go outside and feel the wind in my hair without having to wear a hat..

If you've been abusing your hair (like I have) for four years by pulling and tugging on it and aquired traction alopecia, will it ever grow back? Even after four years or is it gone forever? If it does grow back, how long will it take?

Uh god! I'm right there with you. I'm 20 and just got it. I'm getting injections and going to ask for blood tests for iron deficiency, but that's pretty much all you can do. I just hate that it's so unpredictable. Damn why couldn't i just get it where i want it- like on my bikini line?? lol

by the way, try testing for heavy metals in your body. I was tested by alternative doctors, and it was found that i had a high level of thalium. If i can SAY there was a cure ( caus i really dont know if THAT was the cure) it maybe was the homepathic medecine i took to get rid of the thalium in my body. Maybe give it a try?

hey, all i can tell you, is : dont lose hope.

I had AA when i was twelve, i lost all of my hair. I wore headties, hats , but i never dared to wear a wig.. we tried about EVERY THING ! i had no hair left after a year.. we tried homepathic stuff and after about a year i saw grey spots on my head. No one believed me , but a week later it was clearly to been: hair.

I cant tell you what exactly of the million things i took, it was. but my hair is almost 30- 40 cms long now ( im 19 )

i can just tell you. There is more about you than your hair. And people will love you even though you might not get it back. In that time especially, i noticed who my friends were. And who werent.

it has come back of course. i always have little spots, and some times i notice i have little chuffs of new hair between my long hair. But i dont bother to get worriedn anymore, because i knew, next time, i know what to do, and i know who to count on.

I've been recieving systemic and local injections of (I beleive) prednisone. It definitely helped stimulate hair growth. My doctos stopped with the injections for now becuase my hair loss wasn't as bad as it originally was (still losing hair in some spots, but nothing was completely bald- as soon as it fell out, it would start coming in again). He instead suggested I start using men's Rogain 2x a day to get it come in a little faster (has to be the 5% strength).....

....It's definitely working. The spots where hair was growing in have started to come in a lot faster! I'd probably have much better results if I actually used it as much as I'm supposed to :P

But yeah- definitely try the 5% Rogain out on spots where hair is coming in!!! let me know if it helps. [[you can get a container of 4 bottles for $50 from BJs-- it's normally ~$30 a can anywhere else]] and each bottle lasts a whole month :) and it's kind of funny using balding-old-man foam
