Vangis was the last set of armor I made. to be honest, I was sadly disapointed at the armor in this game. The +1 armors all suck in my opinion. I can do more tacticly with my ura+ set and actually do more damage over time vs helios or vangis. but yea, i understand where your coming from but everyone wants a playstyle they like, I have lots of playstyles depends what monster i fight. I love usinga gs but I prefer to lance against jho with my agna+
I may sound like a noob, with a hr 82, but I am looking for the talisman of the guru and yes I have all the points for guru but I am looking for the talisman guru. I have my reasons why...do you know which quest to take to get it?
I don't claim to no anything about this game, but wwhy use a set? why not a bit of a bunch of sets? like some rathalos armor here... some deviljho there... and make an orrigeonal set? or am I just being a duchbag and equipment is like x10 as effective if it's all from the same monster?
@LPwatcher Each piece of a certain set comes with points that go towards specific armor skills. So if you mix without knowing how to supplement with gems and take advantage of the skill points already there, you really shouldn't mix at all.
the whole ala rev vs the jho gs also depend on the monster element since some monster r better against dragon jho would be the better but as for the armor sharp +1 and attk L are useful but there no where to add more skills that are actually helpful but the whole set itself is bleh but the legs i guess can be used for attack boost with sharp +1 if you dont want helios greaves or can just be used for it 3 slots
@ELProductionz For raw damage in a short burst, anguish is better, but for long battles there's next to no difference in damage done.
Also note that if you're fighting a monster with a gs (aside from jhen or something weak), you're going to have to guard at some point, which is bad if you want to keep anguish at purple sharpness. That's why I like revolution so much; it's a marathon blade.
Plus its useful even without sharp+1, which you can't really say for anguish on any level.
@Bladedlightning well if your gonna guard there are like several monster you really need to guard against and they r mostly brute wyverns which most are not effective against dragon except for like barioth but that what dodging for

This makes anguish the most powerful, but only for those first ten or so slashes of Purple. After that you have to use a whetstone if you want to keep that attack power, so you end up getting less hits in because you have to waste time and stones sharpening.
Even then, revolution does only slightly less damage than anguish for the length of time it's in P. versus anguish's P and white.
@Bladedlightning well it takes a lot of stuff to make ala gs and by definition jho is actually easier than ala so it make sense that ala is better but jho does have affinity so i guess it pretty good for a gs and for that hammer matter sharpness is still important for hammer because after u stunt the monster u would wanna attack and with the golf swing for the hammer which does more than the down smash and charging takes time

Aside from that, Reaver Clamity works quite well with Lagi+ armor. I gemmed mine to have razor sharp and speed sharpener on top of awaken and element attack up. Pretty freakin amazing for jhen+ gotta say.
yeah jho stuff is arely easy to get i can make 3 sets xD yeah but i fell good with my main 5 armours. rathos+ barri+ lagia+ gunner ura set and ceadeus.
by the way jho armous is prety good it hvae sharpnes +1 (what ever ceadeus got it too) auto traker and a high defens.... -_- yep jho armour sucks.... yeah but the way ceadeus+ for sharpness +1 is prety hard to make you need jhen+ event a deep dragongem and update it for good def maybe people make jho because is easier
@TheDragonshunter That's a good point. Jho armor and weapons are relatively easy to make and don't involve going offline for materials. I assume that's one reason everybody likes it so much; because they dont have to hunt monsters by themselves (pansies).
However, it's not completely useless. I use it during jhen runs combined with Dark Claw Demise with Attack up L and Critical Draw added to it and its pretty effective. It's just not practical for tougher monsters...or anything that roars.
I'd like to see yer sets as well. A fav of mine is Full diablos with barioth+ tasset and regular barioth greaves, and a double slotted 7 evasion charm, which you can gem to get a skill set of critdraw, focus and evasion+2, and if you use a double slotted wep like ala rev you can gem out element atk down as well. With evasion you hardly have to sharpen and it looks cool as hell.
hey could you give some tips for freedom unite right now i have all leather armor and giaprey dual claws which have a ice effect but i am having trouble with the bulldrome
@Megamariosonicman Pretty sure bulldrome is ice resistant., from a glance. It's got a frostbitten mane and all. I'd try to get something with a little more defense like chainmail or hunter's gear and switch to a weapon with a fire attribute if at all possible.
@Megamariosonicman keep the dual swords well not for that fight but because you need purple sharpness to kill basarios which isnt possible by then. unless if you have dual swords and use demon dance but for bulldrome if you can kill the kut ku get its armour and i used ravager blade for that fight

I'd like to see yer sets as well. A fav of mine is Full diablos with barioth+ tasset and regular barioth greaves, and a double slotted 7 evasion charm, which you can gem to get a skill set of critdraw, focus and evasion+2, and if you use a double slotted wep like ala rev you can gem out element atk down as well. With evasion you hardly have to sharpen and it looks cool as hell.
