  • can you put one in your grathic card and one onto you onbored ? please help

  • @Flexzzr No. If you use a dedicated graphics card, your onboard graphics should deactivate.

  • i was thinking of hooking my other monitor up will it work on a splitter cable type thing or does it have to be 2 separate wires?? like one standard connection(blue) and the white connection on the graphics card or do the connectors have to be the same ... Also can you run 2 separate internet pages on them like for exaple facebook on one screen and ebay on the other ??

  • @qwerty64717 If your graphics card has two outputs, you can connect them to two monitors. They do not need to be the same.

And yes, you can run two browsers and look at different websites on each monitor.

  • Very good guide, thank you!

  • use*

  • and uso dual monitors 'eat' ram and processor ?

  • if im playing a game on dvi i, it will have graphics problems ?

  • @pretojoya2 No. Your picture may not appear as sharp if you are using an analogue signal, but the difference won't be huge.

  • Thank you for making this video. I have mine setup, but the small monitor is up on top of the computer desk. I was hoping to be able to play a game and have the top monitor be able to view what is behind me.....Is it the game itself that would allow for that or is my setup ( just like yours with win 7) and duel sli geforce 9800 gt cards............. Thank you for any suggestions. I am really into playing BF3 beta right now !!!

  • @ctguy1955 If you wanted to look behind you in a game, the game would need to support it.

And I doubt any FPS would ever support that because it would give an unfair advantage to anyone who has dual monitors! Also unrealistic in a game like BF3 to be able to see out of the back of your head.

I would definitely like to see more multi monitor support in games, even if it's just being able to see a map on the second monitor.

  • @gazm2k5 I kinda knew there would not be something like that, but wishful thinking. A person wearing glasses could have a small mirror attached to the side, but oh well..........Thanks for your reply.

  • Graphic card....

  • @djdjalas Oh, can't say I've ever heard of that acronym.

But yeah, you could probably do tri-monitors with 3 ports.

  • mate I got a GC with hdmi, dvi and vga ports, will dual monitors work?

    by the way nice vid

  • @djdjalas What's a GC??

  • @gazm2k5 Graphics Card

  • great remake very clear thanks

  • i have a dual-monitor setup and the monitors have different refresh rates 1 is @60 and the other is @75. I cant reduce the monitor with the 75 refresh rate, is this ok? or can this damage my graphics card? Nvidia GeForce GT 430. Please help.

  • @durtX43 Different refresh rates should be fine.

  • Thank you so much for this video. I've been trying to figure out how to actually use the dual monitor set up for about 3 hours now. Every FAQ i read told me how to hook up the screens, but stopped short of explaining navigation. I owe you a pint!

  • how do you get the icons in the boxes on the right hand screen

  • @neilcooper74 Using a program called fences , on stardock.com

  • @thektmboy1 I'm not sure how laptops work. The graphics card might not support dual monitors, try googling to see if it us supported.

If windows key + P doens't bring up a few options to extend the display, then I have no idea.

  • it doesnt work when i press windows+p. I have a sony vaio..help!

  • @marisolmunoz1984 What are you trying to do, just set it up?

If you're using Windows 7 you can go to control panel, click Display, and on the left click "Change Display Settings."

You should be able to configure dual monitors there.

  • Will my graphic card be weaker? Like if i have 1GB will the one monitor be 500 MB and the other 500MB?

  • @Wiraskyyy No. The graphics card, system memory and CPU all work by allocating their resources to what needs it. So if you run a game, the graphics card will use whatever memory it has to run it (unless it doesn't need it).

It will take a very very small amount of graphics memory to run another screen, but you can improve performance by turning off the Windows Aero scheme, and change it to Windows Basic. The same goes even if you don't have dual monitors.

  • @gazm2k5 oh, thank you mate ;)

  • i dont know why u dont have many views yet, but this really helped me on how i will be able to do things, i was wondering about the full screen cause normaly i only see videos with games that are over all monitors. thanks ;D
